oh.. oh well... manjaro is a bit behind with packages... and tbh, its one thing I hate about manjaro is they try to keep some packages and depencies behind making it vulnerable for the packages which requires a new packages or so.... I would recommend EOS for Arch based distro... but since script is tested for vanilla Arch, perhaps time to take courage to install vanilla arch...

@SiegeMechanic it works with manjaro... but I cant guarantee it... like I said, my experience with Manjaro is not good hence the reason I suggest EOS or endeavourOS

your gpu is quite old... i dont know if it supports.. my script should work BUT you need to set up the nvidia part first.. when script ask if you have nvidia, choose N.. but I like I said, you need to set up nvidia, ie drivers

Can i use this to dual boot with windows, and my laptop don't have nvidia optimus i tried installing the driver on debian but then when I log in I don't see the wayland option I had installed wayland and repaired grub

I installed the nvidia driver before then I used your script and when I logged in I didn't see any option for gnome x wayland or hyprland I think it's because of the nvidia driver

Thanks alot I think its no.1 Wayland WM atm.. It overtook sway by a long mile and Vaxry is a coding genius.. alot of users are getting into it now so yeah I believe it will exist for a long time and will just get better and better imho

@@Ja.KooLit My only fear is that Vaxry hold it up so much it feels like it relys on him. I hope people can help take some weight off his shoulders. Because Hyprland has so much potential and itd be a shame to see it be solely depend on a few dudes especially Vaxry. I hope to see more support for it on Debian as I plan to switch to debian from arch at some point. Question, Do you personally use your debian hyprland setup? If so how stable is it? Being the lack of direct support for it and having to do everything manually. I want to switch from Arch now that I use my PC for a few select things and am making money from it, however I love Hyprland so much I cant give that up haha. Just curious.

@@NathBeLive Well I daily drive Gentoo with a fall back to Arch... Or should I say, Arch is my testing distro before I implement on Gentoo Just remember, the debian script that I am sharing is for trixie and sid the stable debian has a very old packages so newer hyprland, waybar etc will be behind and not compatible I have all on a separate partitions including nixos on my system. Its the only way for me to test the performance. but lile I said, my daily driver is gentoo

looks cool, will have to try hyprland during my summer break... Just one question (i know you can fix it) doesn't that network up/down bitrate really not bother you? Personally I would hate that it expands the black area constantly.

tbh, I wasnt bothered and didnt thought of it cause I dont use. Some guys requested it.. But I just tweaked it now (still not published, or it is on development branch) .. so basically it will just move on its own space so the whole waybar wont be affected.. end result though is that during idle, there is a space on each side but on its own block basically or its own space

I am using your configs and it's great however in overview (super a) it would be better if when i press tab instead of first toggling the focus and then focusing on next active workspace it could directly cycle between active workspace . I looked into UserKeybindings.conf and the overview file overview_hyprland.js (.config/ags/modules/overview/overview_hyprland.js) but since i don't know javascript i couldn't understand what's going on and how to modify it It would be great if you could help me with that

Great work! Thanks for the nice video also. I'm on Nixos and the scripts have to be lightly modified to work on it. Will you eventually include Nixos install scripts ??? I'm not using your scripts for now. I have to evaluate the impact on my actual setup of using your dotfiles. It appears that it looks now as a quite interesting desktop with many features. 👍

Thank yiu. every waybar config has an mpris with it... if it detects say a youtube music, it will appear... middle click to pause.. left click back, right click forward.. can also scroll up and down for volume

@Ja.KooLit I experienced Fedora-Hyprland. It is so cool. But now I installed Ubuntu 24.04 Lts version as my daily OS. I have tried to install ubuntu-hyprland on ubuntu 24.04 following your special instruction on Debian-hyprland. It installs upto the end without any problem. But when I reboot there is no hyprland at all. I tty and write hyprland still no hyprland. I also installed the Debian-hyprland. The same problem occured. So I restored my ubuntu version using timeshift. I tried again and the same problem. Is there any solution for this?

on github, kindly open an issue and attach the files on Install-Logs directory? or even on discord... as I stated on my video, there is no hard if reran the install-script again.s 99% of issues is being fixed by rerunning the script.. especially ubuntu and hyprland

simple.. SPACE. ... most /efi have only about 100mb max 200mb. If you use that, no space for your kernel and cpu microcode.. how much more if you have nvidia where it needs kernel headers. And you cant even install another kernel like zen or lts if you manually install, yes, you can use as /boot/efi or /efi only since those boot files only are max 100kb

@@Ja.KooLit unfortunately this doesn't help, I put my city (I've tried different formats for how I input it, and none of them work); once I put any city in the script, the module displays nothing at all, even if I remove the city, delete rnb file and restart waybar. thanks for you help anyway, I'll just remove the module instead.

@@edwardagall im not fully aware of other keyboard and certainly not aware of any concerns if any keyboard uses... on your ~/.config/hypr/UserConfigs/UserSettings.conf can you check kb_layout if only abnt2 is there or there is also us? if so, try to change keyboard layout with alt shift, once in us, try the keybinds and then try without us kb_layout on settings

it will increase once you increase the font size through nwg-look if you dont have nwg-look installed, you can edit the styles in ~/.config/waybar/style all files in there or the style desired atm, they are set to 97% you can increase to 100% or even 105% or if desired, change to font size; i.e. 16px github.com/JaKooLit/Hyprland-Dots/wiki/TIPS#%EF%B8%8F-adjusting-fonts-sizes-and-font-scaling-including-waybar-fonts

Keep up the great work ! Still some little quirks using it on fresh installed with update Ubuntu 24.04 (kitty-pyprland dropdown or app menu not working ) but after few retries on some scripts and reboot seems to work better. It will maybe be better with some future update from backport or august updates release from canonical .
