Honestly, I adore my 38Kw Ioniq. Amazing standard equipment and the range is 170 in the winter and 220 in the summer with frugal driving. I wish they’d just bring another 10Kws of battery to an updated version and give me another 50 miles range. I’d be an Ioniq driver for life!

You can turn on Smart Auto Braking and it automatically changes the setting on the fly... so if someone stops short it for from level 1-2 and 3 and then back to 1 i absolutely love my Hyundai ioniq I'm like the one the brave souls in NY to have this car and I LOVE IT.... drawback is not enough charging station in a close radius to my house i may just have to get a home charger which I hear is a good investment

A little harsh on the range. We are getting between 170 - 190. Depending upon weather. Great in white though👌⚡🚗

We test all the cars in the same way - the Renault Zoe and Leaf for example, both achieved north of 200 miles. Based on your comment, you'll probably achieve 240+ miles with those vehicles. Nevertheless, thanks for sharing! What's your favourite aspect of the Ioniq Electric?
@TL-xw6fh
@TL-xw6fh 3 жыл бұрын
I agree. I have a Leaf 40kWh battery pack and I have never ever got 140 miles unless I drive super slow. I believe he was referring to the 62kWh Leaf which is considerably more expensive.
@TotallyEV
@TotallyEV 3 жыл бұрын
@@TL-xw6fh indeed it was the higher capacity Leaf, which isn't that much more expensive than the Ioniq Electric on review here.

IN the US as far as the best value for a daily commuter, honestly, I have to say the Hyundai IONIQ electric is one of the best choices right now, especially on the used market. I am picking one up this week. I like it's efficiency also the majority of review and range tests I have seen have it with a range of 168-190 ish miles with a full charge. Even in a constant 70mph range test, it reached nearly 170 miles of range. Not to mention, it seems to have decent charging speeds. Just my two cents because that is all most of us have to spend on an EV LOL! THE KEY IS AFFORDABILITY HERE

Why when compering the Hyundai with the Nissan did you use the e plus with a 62 kw battery. A better comparison would have been against the 40 kw
@TotallyEV
@TotallyEV 3 жыл бұрын
Because of the price in the UK, of course, you could go for the 40kw one and could save yourself over £4K vs the Hyundai.
@stephenclay6852
@stephenclay6852 3 жыл бұрын
Point taken I was just looking at the range of the two cars. Maybe a better bet would be as an alternative could be the 39 kw kona or the Kia e Niro 39 kw or again at a stretch the Kia e Niro 3 spec. Not as well equipped but look at that battery size. We have the e Niro 4 spec and the range and performance from that 150 kw motor which you get with the bigger battery make it fun to drive. Over all a good review though.

@@stephenclay6852 ah the e-Niro is a whole different breed of vehicle, likewise the Kona Electric; both are among the best all-electric SUVs you can buy on the market. Alas, not everyone is in the market for an SUV and some feel more comfortable in a saloon. Had the Ioniq Electric had a 64 kWh battery pack, we think it would have been one of the best all-electric cars on the market. Glad you liked the review!

@@TotallyEV But the Hyundai is packed with way more features than the Nissan 62kWh (and which is more expensive than this Ioniq).

Charge speed is becoming more important. IMO a small battery that can charge faster is better. Lowers purchase price and lightens the car. Can still be practical over longer distances which is not common for me at least.

Charging on its 3-pin granny charger is painfully slow at 1.3 KwH, That’s approx 30hrs to 100% from near empty. How do I know? Well our loaner Ioniq was dropped off with 20miles range and our home charger is unfortunately a tethered unit compatible with our leaf. Hence it’s very tedious but that said it’s a first world problem and when the leaf is back all will be well again.

One of the most reliable and efficient EV ! Much less expensive than a Tesla Model 3 ! Even cheaper than most Nissan LEAF Trims ! The only downside of that Hyundai Ioniq to me is the lower doors, I'm 6 feet and I don't like to enter/exit the car. That's the only thing ! It might work better for most average consumers as well ! Another reliable and efficient EV is the Hyundai Kona EV ! The only downside of the Kona EV to me is the small trunk for a family ...

Hi mate; Thabks for the informative video, due wondering if we have information about the cost of scheduled maintenance of this car, as I am planning to buy one. Please advise if you have information on this. The modern EVs like BYD and Hyundai have relatively higher maintenance cost.

Don't have such info, your best bet for this would be to ask a dealer for an accurate quote and one that you can compare among other models you're interested in. Glad you enjoyed the review!

I have an Ioniq 28 KWH Electric vehicle. While attempting to charge my car through AC, the connection failed, and the car did not receive a charge. I encountered the same issue with CCS, despite the cable appearing to be in good condition. It was successfully charging just two days ago. What could be the issue?
