In most cases the WoF noise comes from the gear reducer but the early motors (-700, like mine) have a defect as well so that's a future issue avoided With a new gear reducer installed the opportunity is there to minimise the risk of it happening again simply by carrying out one or two very early oil changes (500 and 1,500 km) to clear the wear particles out. As of Oct 2023 it appears Hyundai/Mobis are still unaware that the root cause is simply that the internal magnet was left loosely restrained in the turbulent oil circulation.
