Working on a 1999 Marin bike and the front shocks are post mount but the replacement brake callipers I purchased won't fit. The posts are further apart and the holes don't line up.... Any help greatly received...?

2:36 - because you're putting a 3000w hub motor on a hardtail dude 😆 Not what the bike or the motor is made for. All that unsprung weight is going straight into your back if you don't bend the tubes first. Find a full suspension bike to put it on. My 3 kW qs hub motor fit the 150mm drop out in my old downhill mtb perfectly before I put it in a proper e-bike frame. Read the specs before buying next time ✌

try unplugging your front brake sensor. this will make it so you can run your motor while locked up on your front brake. If you do this, you can stay still without rolling and still be able to keep your wheel spinning on the floor

I have six 1ft x 4ft recessed commercial ceiling lights in an attic loft. The lights are flush with the ceiling (aka the roofline) so they are at an angle. As we approach sunnier summer days I've been noticing that the ceiling lights, which have a metal enclosure, are incredibly hot to the touch. Whereas if I put my hand to the ceiling (aka the roofline), it is much cooler. The roof is insulated except most likely not behind each of the six ceiling lights. I'll have to remove each light to see what is behind them in the ceiling cavity. But I imagine that there is a combination of 1) thermal bridging from sunlight hitting the room through the metal ceiling light enclosure, and/or 2) air leakage from unsealed penetrations. Do you think the "bubble wrap" you used here would also be suitable for a roofline that would most likely get way warmer than where you had it behind an electrical panel? Any other advice on how I might prevent my ceiling lights from getting super hot and radiating heat into my living space?

next time get a tripod please. as its rdally hard to see anything with the camera moving so much. and when looking at this id like to be able to see details. otherwise, i loved the video :)

I just got this same ebike kit from NB power. Unfortunately, when I turn on the throttle it makes a long beeping sound. Any chance would you guys know what that means? The rear wheel doesnt spin. Feels like its locked

Why doesn't anyone actually scan for transmission codes? Everyone so quick to always blame the TCM when this happens. In my case I scanned for codes, and got a P0705 Transmission Range Sensor code, also known as Neutral Safety Switch. This is a VERY common failure in the B5/B5.5 Passats. So is a water damaged TCM, dirty ATF or low ATF. But know the difference. I checked the TCM and fluid level before anything. My fluid is dirty, and will be doing a change soon along with new filter, gasket, and pan (cuz the pan is dented a bit and maybe actually give a false fluid level reading to the TCM). Before buying and replacing the Range Sensor, I pulled the carpet back in the front passenger foor well, and found no signs of water intrusion, or corrosion on or inside of the TCM box or harness. Did a lot of reading on forums and saw many people having the same issue I was having who had success swapping out the Range Sensor/Neutral Safety Switch. Bought a new one from a reputable brand, not ZF, or Audi/VW cuz couldn't justify their prices. Also before buying, I read tons of reviews on the part, and testimonies of others suffering the same issue. Felt confident in the part, the manufacturer of the part, and my ability to do it myself. Took a bit of sweat and lost skin to get the top transmission mount bolt out to access the sensor, but in the end it fixed my issue 100%. Moral here being, do research. Scan codes. Read up on as many forums as possible. Anything to help give you a better diagnosis rather than some uninformed person posting Buy this! Buy that! based on no actual facts that it will solve your issue. Don't just hit your car with the "Parts Cannon" mentality. Be smart about it and you will get far. Btw my issue was the PRNDL would block out red when I put my car in reverse. I'd hit reverse, there would be a couple second pause, then bang hard into gear and go into Limp Mode. That's what the solid red is on the PRNDL-Limp Mode. Means there's an issue that could permanently damage your trans if you keep driving it that way. Turning the car off then restarting it, putting it in Drive would get the car out of limp mode in my case. Drive worked fine, but went limp when put in reverse. That was Clue number One to the mystery. Started researching from there, and found helpful stuff and non helpful stuff. Gotta sort that out. Read more than one sentence or solution, and start to narrow it down. You'll be fine. Also replacing that Range Sensor was a beast in the 2.8 V6, but may be easier in the 1.8. Top mount bolt was obstructed by exhaust pipe and sheet metal. Took a combination of Universal Joints, extensions, and wobbles to access it. Otherwise a fairly easy job. Sorry for babbling, but it's to see so many people saying it's this or that without any facts. Scan, research, have a plan, execute plan. 🙌 Or...buy a new ECU, TCM, Neutral Safety Switch, improperly change the ATF fluid, full PCV system, new coilovers, window tint, body kit, full on 10,000 watt Sundown Audio system, have your wife get p!ssed and kick you out for spending Jr's college funds on car parts you didn't need, and, in the end, still have the same transmission limp mode issue.
