The Hyundai Staria people mover doesn't look or feel like many of its rivals. With its eye-catching design and interesting interior fitout, the Staria could be seen as a bit over-the-top for some family buyers.
Nedahl Stelio tested the eight-seater Staria base model diesel AWD variant, which at just over fifty thousand dollars is a very well priced passenger van. But having driven the Kia Carnival, Mercedes Valente, VW Multivan and the Staria's in-house SUV rival, the Palisade, does this imposing newcomer offer something worth considering for families?
If you need lots of cabin space and thoughtful storage, plus a massive boot, the answer is yet. There's a lot of safety tech and thoughtful inclusions for the money as well. But with not as many child seat anchor points as you'd think, and a couple of other family unfriendly considerations on the entry-level model, there's something to seemingly be said of spending up on the mid- or high-grade version if you're in the market for a Staria.
