Her violin is just Fine! Music should be enjoyed through our EMOTIONS, not intellects..there are technicians- and there are musicians.... combination of both is best! What a boring world this would be if all musicians played 100% identically.
Someone needs to loan this girl a better violin. She is very good.

Mendelssohn concerto is toooo famous and tooo many masterpieces by other masters you can find and hear at.,, It is more challenging to win other finalist with it.

A lot of people wonder why she didn’t win, but I think I’ve worked it out. I think it’s because you can tell through her facial expression and sound that she doesn’t often have fun or change the colour, whereas it is obvious that Ms. Adamyan does that very often.

I agree, I liked the interpretation of Miss Adamyan very much, but when listening to it again without watching I did not find it that good anymore. Facial expressions are completely worthless for the "sound production". Just watch some videos of grand master Horowitz; when playing Rachmaninoff 3 it looks as if he would brush the dust of the keys :-) Hyunjae Lim is in my opinion better than Adamyan, her interpretation is more convincing.

Nah, her violin is a bit quiet. It doesn’t seem to resonate well, however she is an awesome player

She had been my favorite, but a few blunders, especially at the beginning, and some occasional imprecision may have cost her the first place; watch the face of the second violinist at 1:34 -- he was like: "Oh, my God"!
@irisce27992 жыл бұрын
That was hardly a blunder at all. Almost indistinguishable. Ray Chen messed up far worse in his Mendelssohn concerto when he was in the 2008 Menuhin Finals, and he still won 1st place.

Hmm, I am not sure why all senior finals this year (2018) are not really stunning...

Ok well let’s see you try to play “stunning”

She probably needs a chiropractor now after how many times she leans back.
