Driving on Autostrada del Sole (A1) between Bologna and Firenze via A1var "Direttissima" (Variante di Valico).

Esta gente tienen buenas autopistas , me supongo que los peajes serán de miedo para mantener esa pista de aterrizaje .... Gracias por el video y pulgares al cielo para este trabajo , Saludos hermano !!

Los peajes están al nivel de España o Francia... es decir, son caros. Gracias a ti por comentar!

Roads of Europe (verreme) Pues , sinceramente , creo que nos están tomando el pelo aquí en España , o como dicen en mi tierra." nos lan están metiendo doblá " , porque aquí no hay tanta calidad como se ve ahí en Italia ..

Bueno, depende! No todas las autopistas italianas son como esta; en otras, el trazado deja mucho que desear por su antigüedad. Tanto en Italia como en España, todas estas carreteras están amortizadísimas, pero ese es otro tema...

Impossible de s'en lasser! Il y'a de nouvelles choses intéressantes par rapport à ma video comme la sortie Firenzuola avec les panneaux dans le tunnel de base (comme pour Barberino) ainsi que l'avancement des travaux à Firenze nord... Merci aussi pour les nombreuses explications, je ne savais pas pour l'aire de repos en construction dans la partie sud. Vivement l'ouverture du dernier tronçon, j'ai hâte de découvrir le Santa Lucia qui sera un des plus longs tunnels à 3 voies que je connaisse... Seul regret, la vue de la descente à flanc de montagne depuis Barberino vers Firenze est juste magnifique et on pourra plus en profiter !

Merci à toi pour ta vidéo qui m'a découvert cet incroyable ouvrage qui est l'A1 à travers des Apennins. Qui sera le premier à enregistrer le tunnel Santa Lucia? :)

Ca me fait penser que je dois également publier une vidéo de tracé complet BO-FI (ma vidéo ne couve que la nouvelle partie). Sais tu lorsque ca ouvre?

There is also a good novel about the a1 construction between 1956 and 1964. Its title is "La strada dritta" The straight road by Francesco Pinto, but I think it's available only in Italian.

Italy is very rich, build all high way, high speed rain s underground, in gallery, is not france germany UK, italian engineering ,high level s,now ,italy build 6 gallery s of 50km!! to france, SWISS, AUSTRIA ,Trieste sloveno ,Naples, Bari, Genova Milano, 60 km of gallery s, high speed rain Firenze Bologna, 200 km of gallery s ....great country

The A1 numbering from Milan to Naples dates back from the late '80s. A1 originally linked Milan to Rome (GRA) and A2 went from Rome (GRA) to Naples. After completion of the link autostrada northeast of Rome, the A1 became an united motorway between North and South Italia. Corcerning the southbound "raddoppio" still under construction north of Florence, did you notice its inverted localization, adding one more original feature to the whole "work of art"?

Yes I did notice! You first see construction on the right, and then on the left. There's nothing like it in Europe; Italy is surely ahead of all other countries when it comes to mountain motorways.

Italy has some strange layouts for its roads and motorways, and their modernization can also create odd things. The former A3 Salerno-Reggio di Calabria recently renamed A2 Autostrada del Mediterraneo is another kind of realigned and widened motorway, and is much like A1 with some old bypassed sections that have been abandoned and destroyed, and some others that have been reused as a local road or a service area access.

According to wikipedia, Italy has 3rd longest tunnel total after China and Japan. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_total_road_tunnel_length - surprised Norway is not tops in Europe.

Well Italy has many long twin-tube tunnels -so maybe they are counted twice. China and Japan being on top is not surprising.
