That's pretty standard for how men are treated, they don't notice if you're there or not until they need money or something needs to be fixed. Leave for a few hours and they probably won't notice you're gone. Leave for two minutes when they need something from you and you're evil incarnate. Get over it.

@@jakeand9020 It's most likely a learned behavior. The kids probably want to spend time with dad, but he was always busy and gave them money to make up for it. Now he wants to do stuff, but never took time to foster that relationship and instead plays the victim like he's not a grown adult.

My Grandma told me about the tramps from when she was a little girl. Decent, homeless men who would travel around outside pretty much outside of society. The accepted thing was to give them a cup of tea when they asked. You'd also give them bread and butter (and, if you had it, cake). They then go on their way again. How many of these men were like OP? I am in tears reading this. Why enter into a contract of marriage if you're going to cheat?

@Mara_Jade-Skywalker6 ай бұрын
@@BK-tp6jf I totally understand and respect people who just want to stay with one partner for life, I mean personally I could never imagine being poly myself, but that's not what I was saying, I was saying that if somebody isn't going to want to remain monogamous, they shouldn't be in a monogamous relationship. If people want to be monogamous, poly, whatever, I don't care, fine by me, but I think what matters is that all parties involved are aware, consent, and, of course, as you pointed out, that std testing is frequently used along with protection.

I'm a brother too, if my sister call me telling her SO have been violent (threw a glass at the wall) and left I'd be fuming too and I'd probably punch him hard too, and if my sister did lie to me or hid a part of the true then I'm a douche that hit an innocent, i'll assume my part of responsibility but accept that my sister would be responsible as well because she didn't give me all informations. And beside that, he give money to shelters and help the poors, if this man loses his income, it would have a negative impact on more lives than his own.

If you heard all that do you really think he was in a position to say ok all that doesn’t matter when it’s my daughter I’ll just keep rational? Seriously, the man was barely able to stay alive, he had suicide thoughts right left and center, he was breaking mentally and your only thought is to guilt trip him with “but why leave the daughter? She didn’t do anything. “This is why mental health isn’t getting treated enough, because people who are supposed to be rational and thinking just don’t think. When OP was talking about feeling nothing and everything sounding muffled, it reminded me of when my dad confessed to us that he was having an affair with a young woman in his hometown. He said her parents were basically selling her to him since he was considered rich there. He even went to hotels with her but he insisted that nothing sexual ever happened, only kissing at most (I never believed this). I remember feeling the same way OP did. Years later, my sister showed me a photo she found from our dad’s phone of him and a younger girl in a towel. The girl looked younger than me. It was a short while after that that my mom revealed to me that she had known he was cheating with multiple college students that he and his charity club were sponsoring. I just find it ironic that he kept bashing his clubmates before about how they’re all cheaters and their wives all like him because he’s the only loyal man there and how he convinced one member to stop cheating. He made it seem like he was changing them, but, in reality, they were changing him. He had always been a misogynist but I didn’t consider him full trash when I was a kid because I thought at least he was loyal, but I have no love left for him ever since my sister showed me that photo.

This story isn't believable and reads like an 8th grader trying to gage their writing skills. Especially the rant OP goes on after leaving their family. Right out of an edgelord's notebook. Something out of Fight Club lol. Like they used TV logic to make it "realistic," but they don't really know anyone whose gone through this so they don't know how to make it believable. I can't see an actual grown adult holding a 13-year-olds behavior against them and using it as a way to shirk parental responsibilities. AND be surrounded by other adults who don't hold him accountable.

Not all cops are bad but some people have lived in toxic environments to the point that what they do seems okay, obviously the ex wives brother was super over protective and didn’t understand the whole situation but what he was fed by the ex wife fueled him to do stupid shit and luckily he understood that in the end and apologized and was willing to give up his livelihood simply because he realized his mistake, that takes a good person

@@smiley4995 As someone who has dealt woth the deeper recesses of depression, I can't so easily ignore the dad. What he described was a complete mental breakdown without guidance. I am from Canada, so I dunno if the mental health facilities are the same, but we do have residences for high functioning people with mental disorders and it is disturbing how many of them are just picked up wandering the streets, unaware of their conditions. And sadly, this affects men disproportionately. Not saying the dad is disabled, but I am saying that depression is a hell of a mindfuck and shouldn't be ignored. Note: I am not discrediting the daughter's plight, just that the man's plight resonated hard with me.

The problem with depression is that it makes it really hard to continue a grudge, or stick to your principles. The daughter is better off still having a mother around, and the dude needs to have some happiness rather than living with constant hate, but that's all the more reason to take everything she has and ensure she hits the same absolute lowest a person can be. Give her half to the homeless. Poor is still alive; it's just shitty.

@a.m.59735 ай бұрын
Threatening suicide if contacted is a clear sign he wasn't okay. The whole emotional numbness and the constant cognitive distortions he described show he was really unwell. For start, his daughter is a teen and they are undergoing a lot of changes - ask many parents; guy assumed his daughter didn't care, when really she was being a teen. His friends even took his ammo away - clear sign that others saw he was not okay. Guy got institutionalized as needed. He simply shut down.
