That level with the goomba mask was super creative, if you get hit, your disguise is lost and the on off blocks get activated, making the level harder. 10/10 creativity

Not the level creator, but to answer the question from that final level: "Why is there a haunted house in a mineshaft?" because there is no dark cave theme. Mario Maker doesn't let you have direct control of all of the stage elements (like lighting or gravity, or water etc.) so it forces you to have to use your imagination. I appreciate what the author was going for thematically, even if the level itself was kind of meh in execution.

and frankly, it's deeply stupid that lighting and tides are forcibly attached to specific course themes. (gravity is a different matter, because you should have some visible indication of what you have to deal with, and unlike lighting or tides, you can't see gravity.)

@@littlebigphil that's a stupid reason. most of the user interface for changing the tides already exists. there's already an eraser tool; just let it work on the tides. tada! now we have forests and castles with bottomless pits, just like the source games. there's already a tide editor button; just let us tap on it when there isn't already a tide. tada! now you can add fluid to underground and desert levels, just like the source games. nothing is made more approachable by preventing us from using the tools that already exist.

@@littlebigphil One thing SMM2 certainly isn't doing when compared to SMM1 is making level creation more approachable. One menu where you can sort your items? Nah, instead have a huge amount of wheels you have to go through to find your desired item. A place for all the stuff you might edit at one point but won't be used any other time? Nah, instead let's place all of it on the left side of the screen, including options like Multiplayer some people won't use in the first place. And having access to something at all times? Nah, let's limit access to only specific styles, but then also force that thing to be used in that style, forcing players to figure out what style forces what mechanic upon you. E: Yes, I am aware that most of these changes were done due to the fact SMM1 was made with the Wii U Gamepad in mind, while SMM2 wasn't. However, since there is no way to get that original style back, plus since the current style is still kind of bad, I am still criticising it.

His first or second run got to 1000 levels and he extended the goal to 2000. You can see which run it is by looking at the "season", this is now S4 so fourth run
