"George" is a crowd favorite at the Alaska Zoo. The magpie voluntarily came to the zoo years ago, and was eventually adopted. George now has his own Facebook page and is known for his ability to talk.

AHHHH yesss, you can clearly see the ingenuity. A social person, thought "hey, these humans look cute. I'm gonna befriend them and they won't have a say in it" and that's just how it went! I love it when other animals just see an opportunity like this and take it. They know it's a stable source of food, they know it's a protected and safe environment, they know it'll benefit them in the long run. Other animals have just as much free will as humans do, they're all highly intellectual in their own way because there are many types of intelligence, what a superb little peep.

I had the privilege of becoming. the caregiver for a black billed magpie. She was 100% imprinted. Not by me... A family that had little girls raised her. Her speaking voice was in the two little girls voices. I say she but like this video, I didn't know. She was a total delight.

I have had a magpie come to get nuts and seeds from my feeders for 6-7 winters now. It actually caught a walnut that I tossed up to it today. It doesn't talk, but isn't scared of me. It brought two with it this year that are not friendly. I wonder what makes one so much more people friendly? This one that I have had come to my property every winter will land right at my feet to grab nuts or dried meal worms. They are smart, but also a annoying. ha ha...it will not leave until it has taken all of the song birds nuts. Scolding it does no good...ha ha...just takes everything and hides it, and comes back for more until it is all gone. (If it could talk it would be saying, "Ok you got enough", "Let the other birds have some", "go on", "leave some for the others". ha ha ha).

Please make an episode about "I´m a youth in Alaska" or something like this, this would be very interesting, because i cant find any information about the youth life in alaska.
