FILM DESCRIPTION:
Adapted from acclaimed author Richard Matheson's influential novelette of the same name, Constantine director Francis Lawrence's I Am Legend follows the last man on Earth as he struggles to survive while fending off the infected survivors of a devastating vampiric plague. A brilliant scientist who raced to discover a cure for the man-made virus as humanity came crumbling down all around him, Robert Neville (Will Smith) was inexplicably immune to the highly contagious superbug. Now the entire population of New York City -- and perhaps the world -- has been transformed into carnivorous bloodsuckers that fear the light and live solely to spread their contagion to any remaining living creature that crosses their path. It's been three years since civilization came to an end, and the loneliness has taken a devastating toll on Neville. By day he scours the city for food and supplies while sending out desperate radio messages in hopes that someone might respond, and by night he attempts to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus by experimenting with his own blood. peter gresh it was quite adorable how a dog could fulfill a purpose like that but I mean man’s best friends are dogs they were wolves at first which was really cool how a wild wolf could actually trust a human but mostly I’m part Indian and I actually think that dogs have a bit of wolf in them even though they’re DNA might not show it it’s in them

People don’t realize. She straight up killed one by herself no help. Sam was an absolute unit and i actually cried when she went. It’s the cliche “cry when the animal dies” but this movie did it so well.

Yeah I guess she got lucky there though probably with one good bite at the throat taking advantage of the other dog having no furr to protect him, cause those dogs were way more powerful than normal ones and their hunger was making them even deadlier than rabid wolves.

You can latterly watch the next video and see that in the lab, you see when she turns into a zombie dog when he checks her gums and her eyes, then she tries to bite him but he just grabs her and chokes her and kills her because the "cure" he was working on didn't work you can no joke see how he tries to stop her from turning into a zombie dog. But dispite all his effort she still turns, giving him no choice but to kill her. So he was right.

@@2007ghettonissanaltima It's a movie. He never had a knife in his leg, he was never concussed and he was never dangling upside down for a long period. And it shows. He's obviously been directed to crawl at a certain pace so they can drag out the drama of the scene. Plus his acting doesn't match up with someone who couldn't move faster. He's alert, his voice is strong, he has no problem rolling over and he somehow gets up super quickly at :50. He looks like someone who could move a lot faster than he is, considering what his fate would be if he didn't move faster. And this is probably all down to how he was directed. The best actor in this scene is the dog.

I was there for mine when she was dying of old of cancer that couldn't be treated, she died in my arms and I comforted her the whole time. From what I've heard there were discussions about doing a sequel that was a prequel to the first film, like the outbreak of the virus and the plunging of the world into the post-virus apocalypse. THAT would be an incredible film I would camp out opening night to see!

Sam was one of those natural fighters that excel above others of its breed. She fought with and killed by herself an infected dog. Remember the vampires are faster and stronger than humans so it goes to say the dog would be too. After killing a vamp dog 1 on 1 she dove on another one. This part of the movie and what happens next actually gave me the lumpy throat feeling.

My son of 8 years old did not stop crying after he saw this scene. I had to tell him it was just a movie and that the actual dog was just fine. He later told me that it made him cry because he related the situation as if our labradoodle of 3 years old were in that situation. 🙁

It's so badass for Sam to fight the infected dogs to defend her owner, she survived the fight but sadly she got bitten and she's infected. When you have a close friendship with a dog, that dog will put their own life on the line to protect you.

Yea didnt make sense why it couldnt just hold it in for half a sec. In a different scene earlier in the movie one of them even sticks their head out in the sun for like 5 seconds while holding in the pain. I guess the human versions are slightly less sensitive than the dogs

I really feel sorry for Sam. It's shocking to know that when your dog dies, it's like a family member, or a friend, has passed. The relationship between humans and dogs is so strong, we've both became integrated with each other, having formed a strong bond of friendship. 😔

Half the movies about zombies show them displaying some decent intelligence. The difference is not as all clear as some among the nerd community like to claim it is. And don't give us the crap about having the brainpower because knocking a guy in the head is the only way to take out a zombie in pretty much every incarnation. Also, don't try to pull a scientific spin on it: zombies have as much to do with science as vampires do. If your brain no longer functions, there is _no_ way for you to move the tiniest muscle within your body, let alone without any form of regular nourishment (I can't recall a single story in which zombies actually _need_ to eat in order to survive). It's just some fancy magic given a little make-over just to make it seem more plausible to modern audiences. When you're dead, you're simply *dead.* End of story.

yarpen26 Zombies don't need to feed but the virus activates the hypothalamus system(inside the brain)and leave it there so the hunger never stops no matter how much flesh it consumes by leaving the hypothalamus activated it deactivates all the memories and intelligence you might have and leave some basic needs which do not require intelligence making the body its vessel that will directly benefit the virus.Remember the zombie doesn't need to eat to survive but the virus itsef like every live organizms in planet need to spread and multiply and so does the virus.It makes the zombies bite people because it searches for host organizms to spread and thus preventing it's own extinction.

Yeah this is probably the saddest scene in the whole movie she sacrificed her life to protect her owner... He had no choice but to end her life rather than have her transformed into another monster.
