@@Oct13ths if you go by Stephen A Smith”s definition, the word snitch can’t be used for anything not involving police and a crime. Clearly, that’s nonsense. This is really simple. It's not about what Stephen A. did. It's the fact that he spoke about doing so on national airwaves. He apparently makes many calls to the league office, but he's rarely, if ever, talked about doing so in this context (suspensions), so whenever he makes mention of it, it seems like a big deal. If he spoke about doing it publicly every time that he did it, it would just be perceived as another instance of him doing his due diligence.

Stephen A Smith pulling the dictionary definition of a snitch out his behind isn’t helping. There’s no crime or police involved in this, it wasn’t meant literally. People use the word snitch to describe someone who sides with the establishment / authorities over those who they have more in common with, and this fits that usage. Imagine being at school, and there’s a class where some kids get out of line, and then a classmate the next day bangs on the principals office demanding why they weren’t punished more harshly. Same thing.

Steven A was concerned over the antics that went on in that specific game that, as a reporter that access to the NBA, he felt he needed to call the league office, to request an explanation on why Westbrook was not suspended. Once he was given the information he was then able to report about it on ESPN, so in the case that someone else had his same concerns could understand the reasoning on why there wasn't any punishment This has nothing to do with snitching as the league was obviously aware of what happen, it's genuinely a reporter asking questions and doing his job.

From the way he dresses, wearing chains, talking hip hop, interviewing people like Jadakiss and talking to him as if hes even aware of what a mixtape circuit even was lol. You gotta do that for the internet. But ESPN Stephen A, the 'Get off the Weeeeeeeeed' Stephen A is a lot more down the center. When these 2 opposing personas he cultivates clashes in times like this, it's kind of intriguing watching him try to wiggle out of it. I really mess wit Stephen A. I think the majority criticize him without understanding just how good at his job he is.
