I strode through the halls of my castle with a dagger in each hand. My soldiers followed me silently, confusion riddled their body language. I'd seemed to have appeared out of nowhere after being gone for so long. I'm not sure they even recognized me fully. I know I didn't. The invading men stood outside their leader's door on guard, until they saw me and reached out to me. "Halt." I raised my blades, slicing through their flesh and rendering their hands useless as they both cried out in pain. Shoving them both aside, I sheathed my bloody daggers in my trousers before pushing the doors open. Their leader turned to look at me after I'd already knocked an arrow and pulled back my bow to shoot. Then words entered my mind, just before I fired. 'You can't kill..no matter the reason, it always ruins you.' I let loose the arrow. He was pinned to the wall by his arm as I put my bow back over my shoulder. Striding over, I pulled out a single dagger as he struggled. Stabbing the wall next to his head, I leaned in close, whispering in his ear. "Get. Out." Then I ripped the arrow from his arm, stepping to the side. He scrambled away in fear, running out of the room as I retrieved my dagger.

Listen people read the series "ash princess" to this the title is literally perfect and the music if I could describe how amazing this series was I would but I literally can't put it into words. The author literally gently holds ur heart in her hands then slowly starts to tighten her grasp, by the end of this you'll be a mix of excited, sad, and angry. One of the best book series I have ever read
