While we depend on a cause outside ourselves for our very existence, God alone has the power of being in and of Himself. In this message, R.C. Sproul shows how the Lord’s self-existent glory is exhibited in His name.

It's mind boggling to think that the man speaking to us in this recording is, right now, in the presence of this great God of whom he was speaking!

@@lovealways2609- um... even the evil spirits must be saved then? They believed in Jesus as they (evil spirits) acknowledges that they 'knew' Him. Next you will say that the 'law' doesn't matter - something that cannot pass away until heaven and earth have passed away - and I'm pretty sure of where I am sitting as I reply to your 'kind words'. Can you maybe explain what Paul was talking about in 1 Corinthians 2:8 and why Jesus should NOT have been crucified? I got your answer when you are ready for it. Lemme know. Shalom.

@@lovealways2609- Another question... How is it that Jesus needed to 'learn' obedience through 'suffering' ? (Hebrews 5:8) Understand that the moment your feel chosen and entitled - you serve to prove you are 'not' Shalom.

I'm am troubled... that God would have to remove from this earth, every single person that would be capable of understanding the 'revelation' that He has given me. I gotba single reply from Dr. M.S. Heiser... "Your passion resonates with me." ...and then - silence. Shortly afterwards God silenced him outright. I must find someone who can grasp what I've been given! R. C. would get it... and I could explain 'why' there is evil - and exactly why it is 'good' that there is 'evil'... and why we can't fight it to 'win' against it. 😔

“I Am” for all generations. When God revealed Himself to Moses. The oldest question of scientists. Why is there something rather than nothing? Never to incite a debate. In the beginning God…Everything in the Universe has a beginning and all “there was God”. Today I am different than I was yesterday. He alone has being in and of Himself. In God we live because of His Being. 10 seconds, if anything has existence has to have Being of God. Nothing would mean we are nothing. God is Being therefore we are. Profound teaching the late Dr. Sproul still. I live and I know why. Amen♥️✝️🕊️

a sad person finds themself in a slippery hole.. he asks a passing religious person for help, but only gets a prayer.. he asks a judgemental passerby for help, but is told "that, is not my problem" .. out of desperation he calls for G-d to send Jesus/YeSHua to help him.. then, Jesus/YeSHua gets in the slippery hole with him.. with these comforting words "do not worry, i have seen this before, i will show you the way out" *Jesus/YeSHua Ha' Mashiach is the only successful way out of every trial or difficulty

Baptism is a sign of the New Covenant. Presbyterians are consistent with the Old Testament when in the Mosaic Covenant circumcision was a sign of that covenant for the entire household.

@@InChristalone737 No, is not. It is not in the Bible. Even if your argument made sense, once I become a Christian, all my maids, electricians (slaves), wife and children should be automatically baptized. But this is against Tulip, Solas and so on. It does not depend on me and shouldn't be. I really suggest you watching the conference with RC Sproul and John MacArthur on this subject. It is pretty clear this came from Catholic Church and "reformed" churches kept this in order to gain some power against the Catholic system.

Wow, I love that he was able to have a direct conversation with Carl Sagan about these issues! See how much God loved someone who hated Him so deeply? He brought this situation about, so that Sagan could have the opportunity to hear about God from someone who was able to engage him on a more intellectual level than perhaps the average Christian! I do hope he repented before he died. I loved his writing. He was able to capture the glory of creation in such a beautiful way. But it's so frustrating because, in the next breath, he'd deny the God who made it all. Such a fine mind and poetic soul he had. And yet...

The essence of God There are two questions we can ask about anything, one about its existence and another about its essence or nature. So with God, we have first seen the question about His existence, and now we proceed to investigate how much we can know about His nature. From all that we have been discussing all along, we can say right from the start that we can even give a definition of God, which is metaphysically as good as a definition can be.

The incident of the seven thunderous voices occurs in the interlude between the sixth and seventh trumpets. The seven thunders are not just the usual noise of thunder but are thunder-like voices communicating a message. The Greek word translated “thunder” means “to roar.” Thunder is often a mark of judgment in Scripture as in 1 Samuel 2:10, 2 Samuel 22:14, and several more places in Revelation (8:5, 11:19, 16:18), so these seven powerful voices are crying out for God’s judgment upon the sinful earth. The thunder represents the voice of God. Psalm 18:13 says, “The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.”

The first 60 chapters of the bible, only 2 were reserved to describe the creation. It's pretty clear, I dare to say, the focus here is not explaining the universe but the relationship with that Amazing God with the creation. That's why we have those questions in mind due to lack of information. For example, if the beginning was nothing, only dark, let's call a frame. Before adding work on it, the creation, He must have created the frame before, doesn't He? The framework, requires a frame and work. You need to put stars and planets in some frame. So "in the beginning" was in the perspective of Moses, same as "the end" was the perspective of John.

God was referring to Jesus when asked "are you the son of God, the Messiah?" N his reply was "I A M" So it was as if God was pointing to that event thereby to his son. Indicating that they are one n the same. But also showing Moses the future while living in the past who was to be the savior of the world.

I don’t think God refuses to answer Moses’ question, but his answer is deliberately frustrating. His name expresses the abstraction of being to a people that’s always craved immanent, tangible gods. Hence their reversion to the golden calf.
