This anime plays with the sound effects a lot so I feel them watching without headphones/earphones makes them miss a bit of stuff like the sound of rain, the static in the characters' voices, etc.

Alexia was a beast this episode, not from her power but from resolve and potential. She knew couldn't stop/survive the attack so she decided to continue practicing the sword until the end. She decided that if she died and was reborn she would do it again. Cid also chose to follow the same path even after his death. She is no where near Cid for power or skill, but they have a similar path. Cid has dedicated 25+ years to his goal, she has done it for only a few years without full dedication to it. If she practiced the sword for another 20+ years who knows how far she could go.

Yeah Cid is a pretty unique character in the anime space honestly, it's great! Season 02 has already been confirmed as there is a teaser out already. Seems like it'll air 2023 though so the wait might not be long.

On first watch, I tookShadow saying "....next time." as the last line, as a confirmation of season 2. Withing a week, it gets announced. Yeah, boi. Alexia......season 2.....well, I think you two will go wild for what does happen. It WILL be fire af. I'm still holding out hope that it ends up 20 episodes, because that's the next 2 arcs, which are directly related. If that cut it down to 12/13 episodes, for one arc, it will be a fantastic season, but a real waste of opportunity. 20 episodes is an amazing amount of story.
