Same, people seem to not understand that dlc and or expansion passes are planned far ahead of time

Oh I have no worries about the quality of the expansion pass. I'm just bummed that the story expansion is going to to take until 31st December 2023. I'll be long finished with the game and moved on to another game by then. I hate getting back into a game after not playing it for a long time. It's just really hard for me to get back into the mood for it. It's the reason why I haven't even played Torna yet even though I bought it with the XC2 expansion long ago. It just came out too long after I was finished with XC2.

Exactly, people just don't understand how XC's DLC is always built different from other games' DLC.

I just finished the game and I can't wait to see her reaction to a lot of the cutscenes. Especially the ending, omg. She might end up crying more than during xc2's or Torna's ending.

I got a bit emotional I felt my eyes wet and thats rare as I am one cold turkey so it goes to show how much I care about Xenoblade

And I can't believe the games don't actually have a story. It doesn't know what it wants to be.

Alright. Here's where I draw the line. XC1, XC2 and XC3 don't have a connecting story and the sequels don't feel like they're connected to xenoblade chronicles in anyway besides game mechanics. They could have at least kept the same characters or have them join the story later, but nope. They don't do that. XC2's dlc does not count. Shulk and fiora are blades for some reason when they are homs and apperantly, rex is too lazy to make his own weapon like shulk did with the junk sword, so he just uses other people's weapons. The resident evil series did something like this, but at least there's actually a story that's connected with the main game series.

If you look at the top left corner of your screen at that time you'll find that the name of the area is Colony 9 Barracks. So the location may actually be Colony 9 of XC1!

Yeah, that compass was terrible, but i had a feeling this game would improve upon it since Definitive Edition has something similar which replaced the arrow the original on Wii had, so they learned their lesson

I'm positive its more so clones since that one character says they can "grow more" soldiers. It'd also explain why the life spans are iffy if the clones cant live long naturally. Plus we will probably see some clone pod for eunie and thats where the "why is my name on here" line comes from. Plus we literally see an evil looking noah who is probably the original or the product of trying to create a god using project noah from xenogears.

@@RedTheWeeb Ah good points. However, I used the term "drones" in the sense that they are just autonomous "weapons systems". Even the Clone Troopers in Star Wars are essentially biological droids with analagous programing. Those clones also had accelerated aging, which is a common element in sci-fi settings with "weaponized cloning", like Metal Gear and films like The 6th Day. And the characters being "copies" still thematically references Xenoblade X's mimeosomes; regardless if they are biological clones or synthetic ones. I overlooked the possibility of elements from Xenogears also being referenced in this game. So the possibility that "Noah" is taking direct inspiration from Karellen's plan to make a new god is very interesting. The resurrection of Deus, a biological-machine hybrid is also thematic to Xenoblade 3; in the sense that the "virtual" world of the Bionis and Mechonis (itself a biological-machine duality) of Xenoblade 1, and the "physical" world of Alrest in Xenoblade 2 merged together. Not to mention the Ouroboros which literately fuses two individuals from these different worlds together into a new life form. So it all checks out. I just hope there is a good pay off to justify the whole "opposing clone armies" thing, which seems to be the crux of the stories main conflict.

I half-agree. I think this is the prototype technology for the Lifehold and Mimeosones in XBX. Except here it's rather cruel and unrefined and requires actualy biological bodies, hence the clone vessels we see in the Direct. And the red energy that the giant weapons suck in could be the "soul energy" that is necessary to make new soldiers aka have them reborn. That's why that one "bad" guy with the mask looks kinda like an older Noah - might be a previous clone. But that's all just my speculation ^^

Nintendo’s has a track record of *not* creating on-disc DLC, so any new content is just that; new content. So why would you be upset that a good game would get additional content?

Well, it does make sense if the people who are mad haven't played Xenoblade 2 or haven't heard about it...

People upset have no idea of how great the Torna DLC was. This is the first time I was so happy to see a game with additional DLC. The Torna story was my favorite part of XC 2 it felt like a sequel. If monolifth puts as much time and love into it as they did Torna its more than worth the money. If they go the nintendo route with barely any content then yeah its going to be disappointing....but I'm optimistic 😃

What story? None of the characters from the previous games return and it's just pratically a new story that doesn't pick up where the other games left off.

Also none of the games are connected and the sequels don't really feel like sequels. It just feels like other games made by the same developer, but they just called it the sequels to the first game.

@@barneygobrrrrr8781 It's fine. I actually just found out that the dlc for XC3 might have shulk and rex playable, but I feel like dlc in this series is it's own seperate thing. Also if shulk and rex do make a return, they're going to be using their signature weapons. Shulk is going to be using the monado (future connected one for some reason) and rex will be using the sword that came with pyra. (I forgot what it was called. Pls don't hate me)

More importantly, we get another pair of K and A country names like we did initially with Xenogears. Also, Noah's ouroboros form is basically the Weltall from Xenogears. Monolithsoft is reaching deep for this game with its references.

The Pokémon company wishes that they could make games half as good as Monolithsoft. Of course, maybe if Gamefreak actually spent more money developing Pokémon, and released games once every three years instead of yearly, we would see a marked increase in the quality of those games.

@@dragonmaster1500 Gamefreak works on The Pokemon Company's schedule. That is why the Pokemon games feel rushed. Gamefreak and The Pokemon Company have a different kind of relationship than Monolithsoft and Nintendo.

Pokémon is one of the highest grossing franchises of all time, if Gamefreak funneled even a few more percent back into the development cycle, game the Pokémon company more time and hired some more employees to work on the games, then they might start getting better again. ​@sebastian maldonado, A lot of people, myself included, don't really care about the graphical style of Pokémon, we just want the games to have better gameplay and deeper more interesting narratives. For example Gamefreak doesn't see a single penny from Niantic's PokemonGO. The ownership of Pokemon is convoluted. It isn't as simple as Gamefreak benefiting from anything made with "Pokemon" on it like people would assume it works. Pokemon is the biggest media franchise of all time but Gamefreak doesn't benefit from the entire media franchise. For simplicity think of the Pokemon Company as an investment. 3 companies came together to create the Pokemon Company. A company that was created to autonomously run the entire Pokemon brand. Even though all 3 companies equally own the Pokemon Company. To protect the 3 companies from collusion to push someone out, The Pokemon Company itself has full managerial say. Because of how massive the Pokemon media franchise has become, The Pokemon Company itself is worth more than Creatures, Gamefreak, and Nintendo combined. So just like a stock investment, until Creatures, Gamefreak or Nintendo sell off their ownership of the Pokemon Company they aren't "rich" yet. Also, to add, even though Gamefreak is part owner of The Pokemon Company, they work for The Pokemon Company as exclusive developers for mainline games. Gamefreak has no choice but to adhere to The Pokemon Company's strict schedule. Does Gamefreak have the resources to expand and hire more people to help with the workload from the profits they earned from the games they develop? Yes they do, but don't confuse and correlate the size of the Pokemon media franchise as a whole to how much money you think Gamefreak actually have.

I think Mario strikers is gonna go how Mario golf did, low content now means low sales and the game doesn't get to actually be good threw updates. Meanwhile, fire emblem and Xenoblade will remain ready for those who are willing to give it a shot.

Honestly can’t stand these types of comments. First off, Fire Emblem 3 hopes isn’t a traditional FE title and due to the Musou genre still being niche, with or without Strikers, the game would end up being like Age of Calamity where only die hard fans would remember or even play the game due to being spin offs of what are successful Switch games. Secondly, Xenoblade has always been a niche series. Heck, even the other Monolith previous ‘Xeno’ games haven’t sold exceptionally well due to the extremely niche audience. And finally, Mario Strikers has always been a series with a massive cult following and despite its lackluster content line up, Battle League is still an extremely fun experience with the Strikers gameplay people have grown accustomed to. Whether you like the practice or not, more content is coming and Daisy would sure as heck be one of them. For context, Mario Strikers: Charged on the Wii sold 1.7 million copies, while Xenoblade Chronicles only managed less than a million. It’s just the nature of the beast, Xenoblade, Metroid and FE will ALWAYS be niche titles. They just don’t sell as well as other Nintendo franchises. Just accept it and stop sulking!
