weird because that wasnt what the author wanted to achieve with that scene. the author wanted us to feel sad for seeing yuji lose himself and his happiness.

In the end you gotta remember that Mahito is a literal child. Only recently born, he’s incredibly powerful, dangerous, and cunning; but he is still emotionally a child nonetheless, one who likes to trample on insects. He was born purely out of the hatred of humans and thus was born TO hate humans, he knows nothing else. When things go his way he has a blast and loves to troll, when they don’t he’s just a pathetically scared coward. That being said, seeing a teenager bully a miserable infant was incredibly satisfying.

This is just a weird perspective to me. Mahito seems childish by nature, regardless of his age since there’s no reason to believe curses develop mentally/emotionally similarly to humans. Moreover, Yuji is a child too, and while he does reach breaking points throughout several moments in the series, it never matches Mahito’s pitiful demise because Mahito, by nature, is a pitiful character. Or at least, that what makes more sense to me than “immature because age.”

The anime didn't include this, but they shold've have. Look up the cover for the manga chapter 117. Not a spoiler, that was the conclusion of Sukuna vs Mahoraga. Yuji resembled Sukuna hardcore right? The anime is going out of their way to show that to you. Slicked back hair, cut that makes it look like Sukuna's mouth, demon red eyes with black shadow, unwavering focus and a desire to kill all curses. At the end of ep 16, Sukuna was talking about what Jogo should have done. That is what Yuji is doing now. So back to the cover page, it shows what Sukuna's OG form looked like 1000 years ago. You need to look at that, and then look at Yuji again. When you do, you'll realize right away.

The cool part is that in the black and white frames as Sukuna woke up in Mahitos domain actually briefly show the face of his true form. Really cool they slipped it in there

In the end Mahito was a very good villain and he fulfilled his role in not only being a villain but also of course being the stepping for the heroes to grow and become strong.

When this episode dropped I knew the post episode discussions were about to be absolutely heated! The scene with Mahito throwing snowballs and screaming was an anime only scene, those Mappa employees hate Mahito! If I'm Mahito in that situation and I get bitched so hard I get turned into a metaphor for prey and predator I don't even wanna be saved by Geto. Like just kill me man😭

YOU KNOW US SO WELL LOL….I AM SO FED UP WITH THE YUJI HATE 😂. THIS EPISODE MADE IT EVEN MORE EVIDENT. Mappa gave this anime so much depth and visuals. BUT BACK TO MAHITO he was so dang distraught at the end. he finally got to witness FEAR

It's so fitting how the other special grades went out in an at least somewhat honorable way, ultimately being defeated by some of the strongest sorcerers, but keeping the fight up for as long as they could because they had faith in their vision of a future where curses rule. But Mahito, who doesn't care about anything but getting to cause harm, gets nothing but fear for his end.

Real talk tho. Mahito really ran into his worst possible counters back to back. He couldn’t use his technique against Yuji, couldn’t use his domain but was still stronger than Yuji in a 1v1 tho.

Not only did mahito 100% get jumped he got one of the worst jumpings in the series. He had to fight a rejuvenated Yuji and Todo double team after fighting Nobara and Yuji’s Bluetooth double team. He got his clone crushed and still almost won. Not to mention the fact that if Todo arrived 30 seconds later he would have 3 extra bodies. Put some respect on mahito

Mahito honestly is the only one with the best mindset to be a sukuna type threat..he is six months old and has the most potential....yuji also has potential..yuji is more of a unit that can't stop coming at you..hand to hand specialist with a durable body with massive raw power...can manipulate cursed energy very well..black flash Something else is usually understated...yuji has the strongest soul...he can cage up sukuna at will....that happens like maybe once in a thousand years(gojo said this)..you know how much power you have to have to cage up sukuna

I feel like talking jumping and if Mahito got a fair fight is kind of pointless when Mahito declared this is war. He plays dirty at every opportunity. Mahito couldn’t use his CT and domain on Yuji because of Sukuna. Mahito also had a stockpile of transfigured humans to help him jump Yuji. He also relied heavily on psychologically breaking Yuji by killing Nobara, as a trump card. At the end of the day, Mahito is right that it’s a war and it’s pointless asking which side is getting a fair fight. Neither side was fighting fair, you win or you die.

Yea but my point with that is nothing Mahito was doing is stoping Yuji from using his full strength. Imagine if Mahito had something inside of him that prevent him from being injured by black flashes.

@@DefiantWithStyle I think breaking someone psychologically is stopping them from using their full strength. Is that somehow more acceptable because it was planned? If there was a way for Mahito to stop Yuji from using his power, he absolutely would not hesitate. But Yuji is fighting on the backfoot too because he has no powers except punching and getting black flashes. He has nothing to take away 🤣 And Mahito does have something like that, it just doesn’t work on Yuji. But it meant none of Todo’s hits or any other sorcerer could harm him but Yuji and Nobara. It diminished how much he could be jumped by the pair since he’s immune to one of them. And he has his own back up transfigured humans. The boy’s been a sorcerer for 3 months. This was never a fair fight. Mahito taught Yuji a valuable lesson that war is not fair, then Yuji teaches it back to him.

Yo the difference between Yuji and Mahito is that literally everything that was thrown at Yuji was literally mahito’s power. Sukuna ain’t no kurama where he is part of his power. He is a whole different person so that isn’t Yuji’s power rn.

complaining about sukuna is like complaining about kurama or Ichigos hollow. Not to mention itadori hasnt even developed yet hes only been in this jujutsu world for 2-3 months he doesnt have his CT yet no domain nothing just hands so to complain about a dude who fights with hands n heart makes no sense at all plus he 15 so the whole mindset about killing n all that is hard for him to get around at times. Also Itadori being able to hurt mahito’s soul has nothing to do with sukuna- The only positive sukuna gives Itadori is like protection from domain expansion every other influence is pretty much negative
