Hello @mutha trucker, this is @qracabelo all of your videos it’s getting better and better, great job, I am 40 years old and I have being driving trucks since when I was a child, and did long distance for 14 years all over South America and all over North America, and I hauled a lot kind of loads like, oversized load, my primary job now is a tanker, and etc, I never went to a trucking school, I got my CDL license 19 years ago, but my family and friends started to teach me everything about trucking when I was a teenager, when a career it’s on demand and a company have a lot equipment seating down on they yard they are losing money, that moment a lot companies start to lose control of the situation and start to qualify candidates without training them well, I never worked for big corporations in my life, but on the road as a trucker we hear a lot, and most the time it’s not from a trustable resource, and on the truck industry there is a lot lies coming from every direction, I trained a lot new drivers for the last 10 years, and all of them told me when they got they first CDL job driving a 18 wheeler, without experience the company they worked for did not trained them well, and in a days gave to them a responsibilities of a professional, while they had no clue about trucking industry, so fresh from the trucking school, and they is a saying on the road if the wheels is no turning the truck its not earning, which make a desperate trucking company hire who ever knock on they door! And there is only few KZfaqrs that brings a good content without criticism and lies about trucking industry, good job on your channel @mutha trucker.

@@lilbfrom094princeton8 I like what they had to say about their motive to invest in some driver assist technology. What I don’t like about the technology as a whole is it takes away from skill sharpening and also away from situational awareness. It’s scary to see how they take ignorant people practically out of homeless shelters. 2 weeks later they are driving a rig. No mechanical knowledge and just enough knowledge and practice to get themselves in trouble. How can they do a pre-trip when they don’t even know what the hell they are looking at. Other than the few pages in the book they read in school.

Different is I believe you have 2 terminals where Knight has 20+ not all have the same things at each. But when you add in the Swift, Bar nun and Abilene terminals which any of there drivers have access to there is 50+ terminals. So pretty your never more than a few hundred miles from terminal or less if you add in all the secure yards

I know Swift gets a lot of Flak about Accidents. As All Trucking Companies on Accident Claims to Quantity of Trucks / Drivers. There’s the Pie Chart. The % of Accidents, and % of No Accidents. Good Part There’s Good Drivers but They’re Not The One Thought About when There’s an Accident. ( Good Drivers can Be involved in Accidents ) It’s a Constant Learning Job. We all Have to Start Somewhere.

I’m seeing more FedEx then Swift. They seemed to always be in the rush. I’m a former CFI driver. I drove for CFI/Conway Truckload for 12 years without any accident. All it took was one day stuck in traffic so I pulled over off ramp to urinate, two hours later I received a call for reroute to the main terminal in Joplin MO. That I was terminated for urinating in public, it was reported by a company driver from Premier Trucking base in Georgia. 8 years forwarded I’m now own my trucking business with 10 drivers. So it was a blessing in disguise for me.

Hi Alex, I had the pleasure to meet you this past Friday, I was the one in TG training that you asked, "Why I chose Knight Transportation" Thanks for all the work you do in getting the word out. Being new to trucking, Knight (TG) training was very detailed, almost like a boot camp for new drivers, not only with hands on, but the advance technology Knight uses to help you become a professional driver, a real big eye opener, gives you a perspective of what to expect before heading out on the road. Soon I will be going on the road with a mentor for a few weeks to continue my training, then I will have to test out and graduate, all this before being released out into the wild as a solo driver. I'm an actual Swift Driver (not that proud) but a very safe driver. I just wanted to say... orientation for an "Experience Driver" is basically 1 day of a very basic road test, some paper work and videos of their programs and that's it. I only say that because, as an experienced driver, I think companies like Swift should be more rigorous with drivers. I had a "mentor" the first time I worked for swift who didn't followed his HOS log how it supposed to be and many other things. I trully think, if they don't want to be on the spot like they've been lately, I think a more rigorous process should be put to place. PS. Honestly... pay is not that great on many many accounts trust me.

Good job Alex. Some people don’t realize that swift is huge so they are more noticeable compared to smaller companies so when a driver gets in a accident of course they are more visually noticeable from swift just because of true numbers of drivers compared to the little guys. It dose mean swift is a bad company. All trucking companies have flaws and most of them I hope are working on there flaws so they can have safer drivers on the road.

Out on the road you hear bad things bout Swift, like lack of proper training, bad communication with office personnel or low pay, things of that nature. I've only had about 2 weeks of personal experience with Swift but no complaints so far. Tony and Monique have been nothing but friendly, doing hard driver record and accident checks, making sure all the i's are dotted & t's are crossed and getting everything done all in a timely manner. I can say that I am thankful for swift for letting me get my foot in the door. They were the only ones that would give me the chance after I’ve applied to at least 50 other companies. I have been with them for a little under a month obviously have made a few mistakes but anyone that’s new is going to make mistakes and people can talk all the shit they want. Everyone was new once but At least I haven’t gone under a low clearance bridge or damaged anything. Also doesn’t matter what name is on the side of the door it’s who you are as a driver and a person. I will say though also the pay is not up to par for the crap we deal with on a day to day basis. I worked in a factory for 2 years pulling in more money then I currently do with swift working 6 days 12 hour days. I currently am out 5 days a week and home for 2 so grateful for the extra day off but it doesn’t make up with pay for being out all week and the crap we deal with on the road. Being a billion dollar company and personally knowing how much they get for delivering a single load they should be paying the drivers more. It is a great starter company though for anyone wanting to get in the business with they’re benefits and bonus program every month. Also if the weathers bad and you don’t feel comfortable driving in it you can let your driver manager know and they won’t argue with you about it and let you shut down

@@theTrend7 the truck I got now is a 2018 freight liner. I haven’t had any issues with it and it seems like they trade off the trucks right around 500k miles. I’m currently at around 430k on it and they said i would be getting a new one soon maybe a few months. So yea they like to keep the equipment pretty new. And they bring the trucks in for PMs every 50k miles. They could do a full detail on the inside of the trucks before they give them to a different driver though that would be a plus mine was a mess when I got it but I ended up cleaning up the inside myself on downtime

This is what I believe to be the truth . No matter what Money always comes first for these large Carriers . Almost all of them have trucking schools and they get new drivers with no experience willing to take cheap pay . From a business standpoint , this is genius and money maker but wrong on so many levels . Anyways Swift seems to be aware of this but they are at least trying to give them a better experience so I’ll give them props for that .

I was Flatbed division out of Gary, IN for Swift. They are a training company, with a HUGE turnover rate. Accidents happen, daily. 4 wheelers act stupid around semi trucks. It's SUPER dangerous to pull 80,000 pounds (at 65 mph) across the country.

Great video, and I look forward to part 2. I drove for Swift 1997-2002 and yes their pay was lower than others, but their efficiency kept me moving. As I talked with other drivers all they would talk about was cents per mile. I would turn it on them and ask what their weekly take home pay was, and I was always near or even higher. I would rather earn a little less per mile and keep the wheels turning. Sitting waiting on loads can cause boredom, which causes you to spend money. Swift was much better back in the late 90s but I was very happy to hear of the Knight/Swift merger. Knight always ran a tight ship. There have been times lately where I have considered going back to driving professionally, and would not hesitate to consider Knight/Swift.

This was needed to help Swift. Swift was really bad back when in the early 2000s.. I never drove for Swift, because of their reputation. I seen some nasty drivers, trucks & accidents. Every Driver should go through what I did to get my CDL. My training was 10 months long, 6 days a week, 10hrs a day at my local Credited College CDL Training Program.. I still learned, every day I drove. I set goals to log over a million miles without a citation, violations, warning, shutdown, you name it & reached those goals. That gave me the opportunity to grab a better paying job. Then I had a Stroke later in my years that put me into retirement. * All New Drivers should train in a 10sp or 18sp manual transmission truck! I see many drivers that cannot even drive a Stick! That's sad, imo.

That hair test wasn't wrong ! That hair sample is usually given by some government agencies like F B I ,C I A, etc... There are 3 test to check you from urine to blood to hair . Drugs leave your urine in days, but it takes longer to leave your bloodstream depending on the type of drug and amount you were consuming however the hair test can sometimes detect drugs as much as 40 years ago ! Remember hair grows from right above your brain and the brain of anything or anyone will tell on it !

Additionally, you did not hesitate in asking the tough question. I do not know if you had any of their stats available to you prior to the interview in order to fact check them. That would have been or still can be an excellent video, too. In other words, is there some way for you to be able to acertain if they were exaggerating or outright lying about anything? Or were they truthful? I'm sure others would be very interested to see/hear independent corrobration of their statements. I know I would be interested. Can't wait to see part 2. Good job.

Swift drivers are for the most part, entry level . Hard to make any meaningful money over there. Trainers can do well yes, but that's a tough pill to swallow. Swift has a safety points system that is is guaranteed to give you the boot quickly. They have million mile drivers because they have such a big fleet, thousands of drivers. Many of these drivers are scared to leave swift because they have been there so long and know that leaving will probably mean not finding other work right away, so their stuck in that swift rut.

The bitch ass CEO proceeded to mock him and his audience. Because like you mentioned, he's a narcissistic asshole. All those guys at the top are. I worked for Swift, and went through their school, and I can say firsthand, Swift is a terrible company to work for as a company driver. Only mentors get treated with extra care. All drivers are basically a number and will be treated like dog water if you ever question your DMs or dispatchers. It made me sick to my stomach how a bunch of non experienced drivers were able to sit around in front of their computers all day, going home every night, dictating the course of a driver's paycheck based on how much ass you kiss to your DM and dispatches, and they are allowed to do that because they have so many drivers. The company I work for now pays much better, provides long miles at all times, and was built from the ground up by actual truck drivers. They are wholesome people and will do anything for their drivers. The company owner even spoke to us in orientation, and he said "Out of all our employees, YOU, the truck driver, are the only ones that actually make us REVENUE, so you deserve all the praise and respect from everyone in this company because without you, this company would not run." He was absolutely right, and that made us new drivers excited to be a part of the Freymiller family. Anyways, sorry for my rant, but F SWIFT!
