I used to live in Switzerland and now live near Sheffield. No hairpins or 8% gradients in Sheffield. Just straight up the hills at 20%+

Doesn't sound much on paper, but the roads constantly undulate so your riding style has to be different to long mountain passes etc. Don't underestimate riding in the UK!

I live in sheffield so I'm used to cycling in the peak district but some of those hills are painful. I've done them myself.

Man, I’ve done 100km and 2000m and that damn near killed me 😂 Doing half again as much climbing in that distance does not bear thinking about! Great effort

I used to live in Rosedale North Yorkshire, am surprised it’s not the steepest around there. You need to go up chimney bank 33% and it turns, great stuff

Done Chimney a couple times. Issue is I live 35 miles away from it in Stockton On Tees, so by the time I get there, Im already a little tired. But it's always satisfying getting up it, trick is to take the first corner on the outside lol ;) Just watch for traffic. Carlton Bank is also a good one!

I've never been fitter than when I lived in Crookes and biked home from the station every day! Cam, would love to see you ascending Northumberland Road, Conduit Road & Western Road on a 1980s steel 10-speed! 😂

Cool. Out of Crystal Palace a hilly loop is 2000m max. I keep trying to beat it, but can't. I'd love to do that route.

Try the snow road from ballater to granton on spey. Maybe not as hilly but an amazing ride nonetheless

Maybe not the best time of the year to do a route like this around those parts. Jacket on but no gloves? ^^' Those are some hilly 100km! Well done! I'm both surprised and impressed that Chris made it through without rage quitting. :P Still waiting for that dart + map of europe adventure. That one's going to be proper epic! :)

I used to live on this route. Near the steps you had to carry up. Obviously a wrong turn there. I have ridden all this route but never in one. It’s now on my list for this year 🙂

This is where i live i ride these roads every other day every week good innit 👍 and at the minute i'm 108kg !! after a 2 year layoff i can still ride all these hills just not as fast hard work but ive never know any different..
