1 inch diameter is 0.785 square inches of steel. 1 ¾ inch diameter is 1.77 square inches of steel. The 1.75" kingpin has exactly 2.25 times as much steel as the 1" kingpin. It's probably 3 or 4 times the strength.

Please do more informative videos like these. These videos help me save money and explain the different suspension types for off road vehicles.

This is awesome. So hard to find info on I Beams on the net. Had to start a thread on DR to get a basic understanding since I've always run A-Arms.

Awesome video with a ton of great info but Morgan made a small mistake talking about the camber. He switched up positive and negative camber. Negative camber is when the top of your wheel points into the truck positive would be when they point away from the truck.

Great video and very well explained. I'm have that systemon my 81' F150 extended cab. It is so hard for and average tire installer or aligned shop to understand this system that it is nearly impossible to get my truck aligned. By me buying 2 " bigger tire set has let me wuth my truck Stopped for months. 1. Because i dint have the time to work on my truck that use to be a daily driver and now seems that is a project because every local shop around my 10 mile radius beslieve that is impossible to aligned. 2. My wheels are not aligned because we did a front coil upgrade and a 1.5 leveling spacer that helps me clear the new 33x12.5 tires. they all keep pushing me to get a lift kit that forces me to buy all new shocks spring leafs as well. I keep telling them my shocks are fairly new and that I wouldn't go under rhe quality brand I already have. Lime I said it is sad that my only free time is after 11-12 at night and just makes it impossible to work on my truck. The too of my wheels are stiking out and the bottom is in. Like 25 ir 35 ° Again thanks for all the info. Ill make sure I forward this video to those techs.

Could a twin beam suspension system work with a Rockwell 2.5 ton axle? It just seems that it might be slightly better than a conventional 4-link suspension setup. I'm planning on building a custom tube chassis 4x4 vehicle with Rockwell axles front and rear along with a trailing arm rear suspension.

What is the BFGoodrich RC truck you moved?

I'm setting up my I-beams on a f-100, Got a question, so from my king pin to frame is 41 inches, so i was gonna make my radios arms 41 inches and it puts the rear radius mount right between the frame and the rear of the trans. Is that ideal to have an equal triangle of 41 inches? so eveything is equal? any help would be appreciated.

As a straight axle guy Im limited by certain other factors but have considered build a fun truck thats I-beamed. I feel like it may have been good to denote how straight Darrens beams and steering links are and what the strength factor is there.

To me, It sounds like the benefits are as follows _ For safety reasons At full compression the stands are wider therefore creating stability for recovery At rebound droop the tires that are now closer together push out in the landing thus creating instability. The extra inches of travel that you gain18+ makes risk. Strap... limit the travel to under 18 in.
