Yep that’s right, I smoked the amp. Not sure exactly what happened. But it is going back to Sweetwater for either repair or replacement.

my vibro champ is my favorite amp i’ve ever owned. i use a weber attenuator and crank it pretty often in my home studio and haven’t had any issues (*knocks on wood*). the warm and jangly cleans are well documented and with a couple of distortion/fuzz pedals in front it can be a rock and roll machine, too.

Good thing you still got a warranty. I actually purchased a vintage Champ for $600 in mint condition at the beginning of the pandemic. It was more than I wanted to pay but I like the Champs.

The old stuff wasn’t perfect either. Back in 1967 or so my two year old Deluxe Reverb also failed in a smoke show while playing a high school dance. One power tube died as well as the first power supply cap where the smoke came from. Yes, stuff happened then, too.

It’s been perfect since I got it back, only cost me a new tube from Sweetwater, I replaced the stock speaker with a warehouse speaker, it is a fantastic amplifier

@@windsweptguitars привет! какой из динамиков селестион...дженсен...или эмиенс вы бы порекомендовали для апгрейда!? спасибо!🙂

@@vovagreen7414 it all depends on what kind of sound you’re looking for. The amp was designed for ceramic speakers. So I would start with that. I would probably go Jensen.

I bet you’ll be a little nervous next time you turn it to 9 :)

Fender has garbage warranty. I may as well have purchased my strat used.

You sound way to easy on Fender here…. You turn an amp on 8 and it fries a tube? Spoke to a few amp techs in last while and they all say major manufacturers are all cheaping out with cheap parts nowadays..maybe they need more profit I guess…. I hope they at least cover anything under warranty.

fender build amps cheap, even their handwireds have cheap parts and caps in them. Its a shame.
@xjimmemakesmusicx2 жыл бұрын
They are built like garbage. They cheap out even on the hand wired ones with components. They are simply not built to last anymore and while this specific amp can be repaired, Fender really don’t justify their pricing with quality anymore. Check out youtube psionic audio hes a world class amp tech that goes over components of various amps and its laughable what Fender puts out these days.

Any advice for what amps are good for home use? I’d like a tube amp for home and wanted this fender or the vox ac10.
@xjimmemakesmusicx Жыл бұрын
@@gordonthespeed4499 buy a 70s silverface Fender Champ, you can get them from 600-800 will last you a lifetime, can be repaired, and were made right to begin with.

Fender makes garbage now. That's why your amp blew up. So many Fender tube amps have issues, they're even blowing out the pro jr at Sweetwater for $349 probably because it has issues. Fender you can do way better.

It was a tube…. That’s part of it. I just replaced one in my Princeton And just picked this up. Doesn’t scare me at all
