Hi Alex - I’m a police officer and sadly I see how these get stolen constantly. Please make sure you get a decent alarm / immobiliser and tracker and remove the momo steering wheel - if you can - when you’re not using it. Best of luck with the project, I’ve always wanted to restore this exact model, they are incredible and I look forward to seeing you tinkering with it! 👍🏻

As a landrover nut, here’s my comments after the video. Great video btw. Truck looks decent, check the bottom of those doors for rust. All that chequer plating on the sides is normally hiding something. Get that spare off the rear door and onto a carrier, the tyres crack the rear doors after many years of abuse. I’d recommend fitting the rover v8, or ls3. The 200tdi can be tuned for more power but not loads, a rover v8 is a pretty easy conversion and can make 200+ hp. Ls3 expensive but cool. Axles are made by land rovers favourite material, melted chocolate so might want to think about upgrading those, espically with the big wheels. And finally, please invest in security, optimal make a fantastic removable quick release steering wheel hub. Well worth it. Enjoy

Don't bin that engine mate, it might be cheaper to have it rebuilt if needs be rather than swapping and changing. It's the 200Tdi that came out two years before (1989) in the Discovery.
