For the most part I already understand DDoS but this video would have been great a few classes ago (I’m a Cyber Security major in my second year). I still have access to the practice server we used where we had to set up all sorts of things including DDoS & even Trojans so we could then use a secondary remote system to “find” and take them down. Definitely going to come back to your channel for anything I may need a better understand of or need to look at from a different angle because I love how you break things down.

it happened with us.. our college wanted to take exam on their website and we dont wanted to that to be happened.. so one of our firend actually did it and the website was unacceseble for 3 days.....but.. college commity somehow understood it and thretend us that they would go the court if we do something again like that.... so,, we had to prepare for exam and oh boyy that was a nightmare

I like to remember the first time a friend of mine explained what a DDoS is to me. He said to imagine like you are a waiter in a restaurant. In a normal scenario you usually have a handfull of people wanting you to take their order at max. But what happens if every single person in the restaurants starts calling you over and demanding you take their order? Basically the same result as a DDoS attack.

His attack method does not bypass basic syn proxy techniques common in most mitigation providers that make sure that the initial request will continue the handshake. Also, I can assume that his "SYN Flood" doesn't contain dynamic request options.

@@brannonschussler5342 I don't think Google was taken down - it was usable on every device so long as you were not logged in. For example, KZfaq, owned by Google, was not usable until you went into incognito mode. It was simply that Google's authentication services were not working and therefore if you were logged in Google could not verify you were you and locked you out. No DDOSing.

I wrote a botnet which connected to irc and waited for commands over 20 years ago, it was a great learning experience. I also built a utility which merged the bot (trojan) with any executable which is how I spread it, I attached it to a popular piece of software and shared it over direct connect and it spread wide and far. Once I had hundreds of bots I tested it on myself which worked better than expected, each bot had a self destruct which removed it and disinfected the executable which carried it. After finished testing I dissolved the botnet.
