I bought a covette powered V8 motorcycle that is painted like the American flag! This Boss Hoss motorcycle has a 350 V8 and puts out about 350 horsepower! Is this bike worth riding or is it more of a novelty? We put it up against some other motorcycles to test it out!

The two wheeler boss hoss' have a low center of gravity and ride very smooth. They really don't want to tip over and if it tips slowly over it will hit the crash bars and not go all the way over, on a normal circumstance. It does take a man and a big boy to upright it. Turning the bars the correct way and pushing ahead works well. They are expensive bikes, but very stable. Worth a demo ride.

In about 93 I was tig welding at a shop in grand prairie, tx. One day a regular customer named curtis who owned a Volkswagen shop, came into the shop. When he pulled up it sounded like a yacht coming in. He was on an early boss hoss. I did some exhaust welding for him, and when he left the shop he burned that tire for a quarter mile down the road. Curtis stood about 5'2" and had no fear. He became a regular dealer of the boss hoss and every new bike he built he would come into the shop. Every bike was better than the last. He would go to Tn. and pick up a kit, bring it back and build it. I remember one he put a 383 stroker on it. The brochure for these bikes at that time listed top speed as unknown. They first were 70k - 80k but that price kept going up and up.

You must not know shit about trucks or cars. I'm just saying that the Engineers at GM did not design any of this shit. This was whoever built it. You heard them say it, "it has a cam in it." A cam, wha- you mean they took apart the stock components full well knowing it has a chance to be more unreliable? It probably broke down because they were beating on it all day with a tiny radiator. Interesting comparison. My own Road King (and I) would be hopelessly lost in that contest. Hey, any 4-cylinder NSU engines kicking around somewhere, Sean ? What I would love to see is a side-by-side comp of the Boss Hoss vs. what I consider a pioneer motorcycle powered by a high-end car engine: the 1974 Münch-4 TTS 1200 from Germany. Jay Leno has one, I think. I've seen this bike on European roads in the 1970s and it might give the Boss a run for the money. Another European fad in the 70's was to fit VW Beetle flat-four boxer engines into motorcycle (usually BMW) frames. I've got a 1600cc flat-four sitting here but probably won't molest my old FLHR with it. Thanks for your interesting adventures in the world of motorcycling, especially for those of us who make do with stock hogs or metric bikes. It's a ton of fun riding "normal" bikes but seeing the sport taken to extremes is exciting as well.

I used to build these from Kits at Atlanta Boss Hoss around 1995. They are very well built, well designed, and ZERO vibration. 0-60 around 3-4 seconds. Had great fun riding them. That one you have looks exactly like the one the Owner Kent Barnes had. That one wasn’t converted to chain, it had belt from factory. The previous model was chain drive. The vacuum boost usually has enough boost to pull the clutch once to start it so you don’t need to use the foot clutch or lock ever under normal conditions.

Only the early models had the gas tanks constructed that way. Then Monte Warren had my father's company build dies and we produced the gas tanks and instrument panels. We also made the header covers and various other parts and I personally redesign the swing arm from the original which had a pillow block bearing. In 1999 I flew with Monte and his wife to bike week in his Bananza and he let me ride an all black bike the whole time we was down there. Monte sold Boss Hoss cycles in 2016

My name is Ron I seen your video about the boss hausa and the way you started your vidio is the exact way I started building my motor cycle. I was sitting in my buddy's basement starring at his Harley frame and since I had an extensive background of putting big motors in small cars I said that a small block chevy would fit right in there. Since then I have made 2 V8 bikes , one 4speed and the second one an automatic three speed with reverse. What prompted me to contact you was all the stuff you had to go through just to start it. If you would like some more info I can send some pictures of mine and show you how a V8 bike should be made. Mine is called Chevy-Davidson and I live in St. Louis. Back in 1986 St.louis Post Dispatch wrote an article about mine and put a real nice picture in there with it, it was in the Sunday paper section called hot wheels. Hope to here from you soon. Did an article about mine and put a real nice picture in there.
