I've been working with helium hotspots for around 2 months now. It's weird that you can just plug them in and make money. However, you need to invest quite a bit of money to really get them going. my friend and I have 4 hotspots that make him about $13 a day. Return on investment would take about 5 months, at least for his setup. He had to invest a bunch of money for the miners themselves, as well as the special cable and antennas which are the most important part. His house has a good view of the major city near us, so he had to mount his antennas on the top of his roof to make it viable. Overall I would say it is worth it, only if you are comfortable having a slow ROI. the setup that is being used in this video probably won't get him more than $3 a day, as the antenna needs to reach locations with good transmit scores (best one being 1), as your transmit score doesn't matter as much.

@@Foxingg yes it would. These are modded raspberry Pi's with extremely little power draw. In terms of getting the money back for a miner, if you take $3 a day x 30 days, that's $90 a month, meaning it would take something like 8 months to get your money back (if he paid $800 for the miner, my friend got them for $650 each on eBay) You would need to have multiple miners to make it profitable.

You can use Wi-Fi or a direct ethernet connection for it to work, also if it's in the center of a small City I would look into the hnt coverage map to see how many hotspots they're actually are in that area. If there's a lot where you want to put it you might not make the most amount of your earnings.
