Very interesting story and well presented. A tip for you, you don't need those fill-in stock photos or scenes of workers/people. they don't add any value to your videos as you are an excellent presenter and English speaker and viewers want to see you looking at them.

My family and I just spend 2.5 hours at our contract reading last Saturday. What’d cost to have someone do it for you? I wouldn’t pay more than 20,000 yen personally, but that’s just an evaluation of my current value. And it’s Japanese practice for me as well :)

Was this your first Matsuo san? I've been following your videos for a while and this is the first video I saw where you said you actually bought an akiya. Either way omedatou gozaimasu!!!! As for me; I really want to buy one as well with very similar criteria as yourself, but my issue is that I worry about not being able to purchase due to not being a national or having a visa that allows me to be there. I do plan on retiring in Japan though even though I am based in the USA at the moment. I would love to have something to rent out in the meantime. And then maybe after that one is done and rented I can find a second to live in.

Do it. There’s so many free resources out there now. Japanese is an extremely popular language and has a growing community. I started three years back and I can now watch a lot of Japanese media for fun and speak a bit of it, not great but I’m slowly getting there. It’s a very rewarding experience.

Hi, I am very keen and sincere about buying a house .I have research the no restriction for foreign buyers but I am confused that if I do buy a property in japan, I am unable to apply for the utilities because I have no japan ID nor bank account as I am a tourist not resident of japan. Can you please help me understand how to get the utilities connected if I will to buy a property through your company. I am an old retiree currently living in Australia.

Shu, please stop lying to Your viewers! You either purposely lie to some of your new viewers and subscribers, or You have been lying to your old timers. And yes, I know that You do that purposely, just for clickbait and to get new viewers. Sorry to start harshly, but I will proof my point later on. And I have spent more then 2 weeks thinking how to properly express myself in comment - but as most of people read only first 3-4 sentences. I am Your subscriber since You had only few subscribers (around 360 if I remember correctly) and I am really disappointed in some of your recent videos. First : You know exactly that properties you are currently showing are not Akiya. Or at least they do not qualify into term Akiya related to Akiya banks or even abandon house. Recently you show us second hand, used houses, but most of them are simply empty for sale presentation purposes, but not abandon, which contradicts term Akiya. They are properties that someone is still very interested in, as they are on sale with involvement of property agents, and most of them shows that someone care about them. And those of us, who remember Your start knows, that You have yourself explained that those are not akiya, and akiya in most cases is either 1) really abandoned, nobody cares about it and it's becoming ruin in the process, 2) somewhere really remote and probably in depopulating area 3) or at least listed in some Akiya bank and that's main "source" of info about property. So which Shu has been telling us truth - that one about 1 year ago, who was against buying any property in Japan, or current New Shu? And yes, I know that You do that purposely, just for clickbait and to get new viewers. Secondly, You have started to constantly tell people that buying property in Japan is easy. Which is not true, and You know it perfectly. If it would be as easy, as You try to show it recently - then most people wouldn't need Yours and Colin's help in it. Third, what is even worse - Your recent videos present buying Akiya as easy task. Something that almost anyone can do without problem. Which is not true, and both You and I know from first hand experience. Buying property from Akiya bank listening is connected with so many "pain in the bottom" restrictions, that You wouldn't bother to do so Yourself. And we both know it, as You personally mentioned that You prefer to rent somebody for renovation and use that time more effectively, then waste it at something bothersome You are not sure will go as you want. So, please, stop lying to your views. As I cannot use other word, as you are not simply "making mistake" but intentionally put your viewers in wrong impression that you are talking about Akiya, while You don't. One of the most important things is consistency. How can we, your old time viewers - fully believe your words, when we know that You are inconsistent, you purposely clickbait with "akiya" in titles (while you have been critical about it yourself half a year ago) and even some of your recent videos do not comply with each other. You tell us "buying Akiya is easy" when showing something which is not akiya, another day you show us people saying "it is not so easy or you shouldn't buy in Japan if you are not...". Please think about it. Some of your videos are very valuable. You have made great work while meeting some of your guests, you have talent to find and meet interesting people with real knowledge and experiences. But lately You are making poor joke from your own viewers.
