96 K5 Blazer. A ton of cheap suspension and drive line parts for them and a Vortech headed 350 is easy to get bulletproof power out of.

I’ve been telling everyone how good the w163 is -my 2003 outlasted my cayenne - and I treated the Cayenne way more gentle than the ML - top car /SUV - top video !!

Great choice. My W163 has 173k trouble free miles. Holds my 3 tall boys in the back way better than a 4Runner I used to own. I will buy another one if anything happens to it. Looking forward to the series.

I have been waiting for this !!! I have a ML 55 and a lifted off road ml430 I'm building Also about to do a transfer case swap to a manual case because the 2012-18 jeep wrangler uses the our same 722.6 transmission amazingly :) But these things are super capible and I wheel mine really hard and on a regular basis 😃 thanks for the great videos 4ets is your best friend !!! Lol

well thanks for letting out the secret.... i have a 99 mll430 going on 8 years now, great for all around, tow my car to track 300 mile round trip many times, gone to sand dunes, mountain trail climbing snowing you name its great , easy to fix and maintain , its a tank

You won’t need front shocks with how cranked you’ve got those torsion bars it’ll ride like it’s on bricks. Careful of running those CV’s at such an extreme angle as well. Looks like it’ll be an awesome build as always. Cheers Pat 🇦🇺

I’m a big fan, think I’ve watched all your videos! I’ve been hoping you would get an ML55, as I had one for 4 years. I just sold it to a friend and picked up a CL55. He just had the gauges stop working although everything else in the cluster works just fine. Any help you can provide by way of cheep advice would be much appreciated! He is stoked about this series and to be honest I’m jealous! Lol. Thanks for all you do!

You might be able to find the ML63 or maybe the ML65. They are what replaced the ML55 and have a ton more power.

Lookin forward to this. I drive G wagons for work in the Australian desert and own 2 diesel ML270s. Far more reliable, comfortable on the dirt and almost as capable. Mechanically simpler too.

I still have a 2003 ML500. Has it since 2008. I will NEVER sell it. One of the best vehicles I have ever had. Still use it to tow my boat. 232k miles and climbing

I’ve always like this ML and also the first gen X5. The stying on them is more like a tall wagon than today’s SUVs which are styled too aggressively IMO.

Maybe the abs hydraulic module. the motor has brushes and the get worn out. You can replace them with using 3 or 4 mm brushes, I have forgetten which ones, and you have to solder them in. But I have repaired My brother ml500 and my ml55.

Hey Alex! NEED your help! Im now a CDI owner because of you! Love it! I need an SUV as I recently sold my L320 RRS and have an Expedition EL which is too damn big now. Since owning the W211 CDI , I now want an ML of GL CDI... but you mentioned in the beginning pf the vid that this gen ML is the greatest ML, is that so? I was planning on buying the 2nd gen in diesel form, or GL CDI, but if this gen ML is truthfully the better let me know! That way I can start my shopping.

I have a 2002 W163 ML500 on 285/70-17 or almost 33". All I needed was to tighten the torsion bars in front and it fits perfectly.

@@norcalcasey14 Actually there were no mods in the rear. One of my springs was broken and the shocks old so I ordered a set of springs and shocks that was already assembled from Rockauto and put in. So new springs in rear and tighten torsion bars in front was all I needed.
