It was time get out of the big city and explore Rwanda. I was told that no matter where you go in Rwanda, it's safe, so naturally I decided to go to a town deep in the hills that no one had ever heard of. I was hoping to find a local moonshine called Urwagwa, or Gwagwa, but it would be a challenge. I would need to charm my way into the heart of the village.

I came across this channel because I was a fan of laoshu, and I quickly had to subscribe to you since you're carrying the same spirit and showcasing great travel to boot. While you're in Rwanda, be sure to try the milk there, specifically ikivuguto which is a slightly sour fermented milk which tastes like kefir and is delicious. They have milk bars there, or you can go to a village and see if you can get it fresh.

I just found your channel & starting binge watching! Love it! ..Ive seen you in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ghana & Mexico so far & u r very kind & do so much to help others. I respect that. But one thing I noticed In all these places besides Mexico, is they ask for things, don't say please or thank u & then ask for another thing! So I like that u straight up said, "your the 1st one to say thank you"..I get they don't have much. But for ppl that don't have much u think they would show more gratitude & at least say thank u before asking u for the next thing. .Anyway glad I found ya & safe travels.

Dude! I love how You just shred the cultural barriers with many locals wherever you go. Thanks so much for sharing your travels and always taking one for "Team Humanity" . Also the surprised laughs of those women when you asked that guy for the liquor was priceless :)

@@salimrandu7762 in a lot of countries because it's crude! In Kenya, so many instances of people turning blind or dead after drinking the local water ... moonshine. Even in Uganda it's lethal! Guess due to the stricker controls in Rwanda, folks are scared of revealing it's whereabouts to compete strangers, especially a mzungu with a camera - they know that they will end up on bbc, cnn, aljazela etc

Hey tommy i am rwandan, first of all much respect for the fact that you can take yourself to the country side without anyone's help, trust me even some rwandans can't do it😂😂second of all,the way u speak our language its just amazing...but one sad thing is that you are umuzungu😂so being honest most of the price you paid,u got overcharged😂😂but still the experience was worth it..hope u enjoy your time whenever u are in rwanda

I'm really not one to comment but I gotta state my appreciation for you. Found out your channel only about 3 months ago but have been following every video since. I must say, at first I thought you were kinda on the mellow side, not so over-the-top personality we usually see in youtubers and I asked myself if you could held me interested and... here I am, how many videos later? I even went back and watched since your first videos up in Mexico. I really feel that I don't need to say this to you but keep up being who you are, in terms of being an open-minded, open-hearted, non judgmental person... A person who freaking CARES. That is just such an alien concept these days, it seems. I speak 3 languages and 2 others I know a little bit but after watching you randomly getting into your Chinese friend's car (in Zanzibar, I think?) and proceeding to talk in Mandarin with her I just told myself "what the heck" and I went out and enrolled myself into some Chinese classes. I've even been in China but never had any interested in learning it, so all my friends where like "why the hell?"... I just told them I saw a random youtuber who inspired me! hehehe I know it seems far-fetched but if you're ever, ever, in Brazil (I live in São Paulo) and are open to be taken around and explore the country I'd love to tag along, even though you seem like a lone ranger kinda guy. (added you on Instagram) Keep doing what you're doing. I'm going out on a limb here but If you ever felt like you lost the direction of your life be sure, absolutely sure of yourself that you're doing something unique only you can do! Out of almost 8 billion people in our humble world you are standing out and are inspiring and educating so many people for something truly worthy. That's what an "influencer" should be about. Cheers and thank you!

Murakaza neza Tommy!!! Just for future references most of Rwandans don't use the map.. they just say the name of a place you want to go to and they will verbally direct you... Questions: Have you visited Kibuye, Gisenyi , Burera or Nyirangarama yet?? You will love those places

This place is specifically known as ‘Rulindo Chinese Martyrs’ Cemetery’. This cemetery was built in 1982. From 1982 to 1997, a total of 10 Chinese who passed on working in aid projects in Rwanda were buried there. Each year, Chinese diplomats, aid workers, teachers, volunteers and other members of Chinese community travel to Rulindo district in the Northern Province, about 50.9 km from Kigali city, to pay tribute to 10 Chinese, some of whom sacrificed their lives.
