Жыл бұрынThe Khaosan Road area of Bangkok has changed a lot since I was here last. This is my fifth time in Thailand, and it's one of my favourite countries. It's a great country for first time backpackers, with the friendly locals, great food and affordable prices. It is also open now with no restrictions. You can get a visa on arrival from most western countries for 45 days. Thailand is huge geographically, it's about twice the size of New Zealand so if you're thinking about visiting I would recommend going for at least two weeks.
Today I'm showing you my experience of buying weed in Bangkok, Thailand. This is an amazing country for first time backpackers and can be done on a budget if you do it right. I was actually here right before the military takeover (and the you know what) years ago and it has changed so much since then. Enjoy the video!
Khaosan Road in Bangkok Thailand, known for its great cheap bars, street food and travel agents, has changed a lot since I last visited in 2019. This video shows you the new prices, whats left of the street life, and we go to buy some weed from a store that specialises in selling marijuana.
**Note it is NOT LEGAl to smoke in public. Tourists have reportedly been arrested and shaken down for bribes outside of hostels. Do your thing INSIDE.**

My dude had to pay 20 000 baht fine and before that we used to smoke in bangkok it just changed with new year but they should have more guilty for strangers

Well done to the forward thinking Thai people for making this happen. I always put off visiting Thailand on family vacations because I like to smoke. Now we are already planning a trip to Thailand this year and planning on many more in future 👍

8.29 is not Thai soup but Japanese. Bangkok has many restaurants offering foreign cuisine: Ethiopian, Lebanese, Israel, Mediterranean, Indian, Bangladeshi, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Singapore, etc.

We call these kind of waterways "klong" means canal, although the water channel from the Chao Phaya river. I'm a Bangkokian but I don't remember ever set foot o Khaosan Road. Bangkok is a food paradise for the variety and the price.

*Rattanakosin is the whole area it's the old part of Bangkok and most of the land is owned by the crown property.

Five bucks for a roof over one's head and a bed is pretty darn good. However, I would worry about my stuff going missing when I need to go out for the day. Are lockers available?

When you go traveling, how do you change the US currency to the place you go like to BAHT currency? How would you go about that?

Go to a currency exchange office. Write the amount you have on a piece of paper and show them. They will show you their offer. Check the exchange rates with a currency app. Then accept or reject their offer. Or just use a bank machine.

Language barrier is real in Thailand. Probably the only downside to going there. Dude is right, Thailand's weed is too expensive. I can get like 4 grams in local dispensary for that same $10. I guess the only way I would go to Thailand for cannabis is if my intentions was to sell it.

And the irony is that it's weed from the States! Locally grown Thai Sativa 17% thc pressed brick available for ฿10 @ gram. Not hybrid boutique stuff but definitely works.

I thought at least out of pure greed, Thailand would go against WHO recommendations and be one of the first to fully open up for tourism. But when they kept refusing to do so, I started thinking they were tanking their own backpacker industry on purpose for some kind of longterm plan (like phasing out the low budget backer in favor of wealthy digital nomads, families, and crypto investors)

International backpackers made this road unique.Was the best road with the best vibes from all the friendly people from around the world.Push the backpackers away was a mistake in my opinion.Now its another boring hipster road without style and soul.RIP KSR.

Agreed, Kao San road was so cool 35 years ago. I went back and I saw packs of anomic tourists. Boring people just promenading their own vacuity and boredom somewhere else.

The Thai guy in the weed shop was a dick. I recently came back after a month and had weed all over North and south Thailand. If in bangkok then go King weed opposite King power hotel, the strains there are amazing. Also this guy ripped you off massively
