Fun fact: The World’s Largest Ball of Twine is in Cawker City, Kansas. It started with one person with a dumb little hobby. Now, there’s a little celebration for the ball of twine where people add more twine. This started because after the original twine-person died, someone else tried to make a bigger ball of twine. In memorial of the person who started the ball of twine, the community protects the world record by continuing to build up the twine ball. It’s really silly, but it’s also very sweet. I drive through Cawker City a few times each year, and even though I don’t stop for the twine, it makes me smile. Also if there three more balls of twine, it’d be hilarious to see where they’d put it
