I Built The FLOATING MOUNTAINS of AVATAR in an Aquarium | Epic Guppy Fish Tank

Are you ready to take an underwater trip to Pandora from AVATAR?
Tommy takes inspiration from the movie Avatar to design an aquascape, focusing specifically on the jungle and floating hills imagery.
A complex construction process involving a stainless-steel screw bar and rocks create the floating hills. We've used specific tapes to mark the actual front of each rock and ensure they are placed correctly. Small pieces of Lava rocks are used to elevate the back side before the stones are glued together. Glue is used to secure rocks in the design and ensure they don't move. The main frame requires time to dry after being glued together.
Once the structure was done, we added moss to the metal bar to enhance the natural look and added a mix of small plants to create the jungle effect under the floating rocks.
Tommy uses a variety of plants such as Riccardia, Cryptocoryne spiralis 'red', Helanthium tenellum 'red', Gratiola viscidula, Rotala bonsai, Staurogyne repens, Hygrophila pinnatifida, Rotala sp. Pearl, and Flame moss among others.
A movie inspires the aquascape and should be judged as a recreation of the movie's environment rather than a natural scape.

love it! in a month times you should do a fallow up what maintenance team so they can tell us how much of a pain to care for this beauty is. I think it came out very well hopefully we get more updates on the tank!

these are the types of tanks I love to see from you guys, we see normal nature style scapes all the time but seeing stuff like this and the desert tank are really inspiring and cool. To be fair I think I agree with you, as a scape this is amazing, and this type of content is absolute gold. I'd love the chance to see it in person, and I hope you do more of this type of video. I could spend a good few hours staring into it. But I'm not sure I'd want it in my living room. It's essentially a living museum or art gallery piece, what it's not is a slice of nature like most of your tanks are. Perhaps a good way to describe it would be nature fantasy because it does have a lot of nature in it, but it's clearly not natural.

Besides being more artificial, the concept and the look are really good. The fish selection it's also pretty nice... with all those waiving fins, it gives an Avatar feeling into it looking like the cool critters in the movie.

I'm only 17 minutes into this video and I gotta say, I bet even James Cameron himself would be impressed with that work. And he strikes me as a guy that's hard to impress. It looks JUST like the Hallelujah Mountains of Pandora. Specifically, the region Jake and the other Na'vi go to get their Ikran in the first film.
