Hi friends!
In this video I’m takin’ ya with me through a full WEEK! I’ll show you everything I’m having for dinner- we’ve got some good stuff goin’ on!
In all of my full days/weeks of eating, the goal is for me to show you what it looks like to eat with no food rules. I explain the WHY behind my food choices so you can see how I eat intuitively. During these full days of intuitive eating some things will be kept ambiguous to help prevent comparisonitis.
Since we have quite a few full days here I decided to make a resource to expand more on WHY and HOW I make food choices with no food rules. Really there are 5 questions that I ask when it’s time to eat and the PDF will walk you through them so you can also learn to eat intuitively with no food rules. Snag the PDF here:
FREE DOWNLOAD How To Eat With No Food Rules: The 5 Essential Questions To Ask At Meal Time: nofoodrules.co/5_Questions_Yo...
Learn How To Eat With No Food Rules In The SociEATy → nofoodrules.co/The_SociEATy_YT
Don’t forget to give this video a thumbs up if you want to see more full days of eating! And if you’re not already subscribed to the channel be sure you do so you ya don’t miss ‘em
ENJOY!
XOXO
-Colleen

Air fryer all the way! I have a 3yr old and a 8month old so food needs to be FAST in our house (and extra crispy is always a bonus for my toddler). Just started this Intuitive Eating journey and working through the book How to Raise an Intuitive Eater so my girls don’t grow up with the same disordered eating I did. Your videos have been essential in showing me how to put a lot of what the book says into actual practice! ❤

Hey! You can totally live with no food rules! There is a difference between a food rule and a preference. Giving your body what helps it feel best and being mindful of that absolutely can work! You CAN go eat all of the carbs. The question is do you want to? What helps your body feel it's best? Small mindset shift but HUGELY helpful. We have a lot of people in The SociEATy who watch blood sugar we even have a whole workshop on it!

I make shredded chicken tacos in the instant pot every week and it's so delicious! 3 Boneless skinless chicken breast, 2 TBL of taco seasoning, 1/3 cup of chicken broth and 1 Cup of Salsa. It cooks up in about 12-15 minutes and it's so easy. Great video thank you for all you do. I found this recipe years ago on a website called spend with pennies.

Yes ! Please do a video of both breakfast and lunch. I also like tje portions of ur food choices. I know I sometimes get caught up on that!. I can make good choices but to much of it. Thanks for the ideas!. I recently ate tacos but with chips not tortilla and frienda kept asking if that was part of my "diet" jajaja i gladly responded "no, i just felt like eating it like this!". Its nice to enjoy the meal. When dessert time came I didnt have any just a taste of one because I really didn't feel like it and I was full. I knew I wouldn't feel good after. I’ve been watching you more and more frequently for quite a while. That being said, there is a possibility that I’ve missed this in another video. I love the moving toward the “no food rules” life style. I have had quite a revelation around my mental health in relation to food and am noticing how frequently other people project food rules that they have learned from our very diet focused culture. However, I am obese. For my health, and to feel better I do need to lose weight. You touched on it a little bit at the end, but it doesn’t seem your focus is as much on losing weight and you are very lean. What would you recommend to someone trying to break the food rules lifestyle but also lose weight? Does portion control come into play? It feels like a silly question but I’m struggling to wrap my mind around it.
@meghaffer
@meghaffer 7 ай бұрын
My experience with my weight has been that I don't have rules and I have lost two pant sizes so far. (I was a size 26 and am down to 22. Those are starting to feel loose now too.) As to portion sizes, I don't put overall limits on how much I eat. But to learn to listen to my body, I start with very small portions with the understanding that I can have second or thirds or fourths etc... By taking food in small increments it allows me to understand how much actually feels good. After coming from a place of mindlessly eating what was on my plate until it was gone and feeling overfull and sick, unlimited small helpings has helped me learn to actually listen to what my stomach is telling me. Over time I've come to be better at estimating how much food I actually want at any given meal. But small increments was a great place to start the learning process. I also buy sweets when I'm having a craving, but I don't often buy large packages because I tend to slip into mindless eating then feel sick because too much sugar hurts my stomach. I'll get a smaller pack of candy or cookies or whatever with the understanding that I can go back and buy more if I want to. Usually I don't want to and don't feel deprived. That said, now that I'm more in tune, I can get the larger packs and will generally stop before I make myself sick. Experimenting with what ratios of carbs to protein to veggies I need per meal has also helped me figure out portions that are good for my body. For me, it's about equal amounts of all three with some fat from cooking or butter on my veggies. If you watch enough of Colleen's videos you start to understand there are no "bad foods" and it frees you up to make choices based on your own body's signals instead of arbitrary rules someone else made up that may not actually be helpful in your life. Food has no moral value.

@meghaffer
@meghaffer 7 ай бұрын
I'm on a tight budget too. Many grocery stores have a rack with produce that's about to go bad and it's really cheap. You can't stock up and will need to go to the store more often, but it can save you a ton of money. If you have a freezer, frozen vegetables are generally less expensive than fresh. I've found that store brand frozen is hit or miss for quality, but name brand frozen is still cheaper than fresh and more consistent with taste.

Love what I had for dinner tonight as a quick weeknight dinner with easy leftovers for lunch at work. Frozen chicken souvlaki, oven baked on a whole wheat pita with hummus, tzatziki, red onion, fresh dill, feta, lettuce and a squeeze of lemon juice. Then Greek salad or roasted veggies or raw veggies with Baba Ganouj as a side. Literally 25 minutes start to finish (30 if doing roasted veg) and only baking sheet, cutting board, bowl for veg, plates and cutlery dirty.
