I wholesomely think the ukulele is a fun instrument, just as guitar or any instrument! I've been playing one for about 6 years now, and it genuinely is a challenging but rewarding one!

A low-G is a replacement string that you could put on your tenor ukulele to change the pitch of the G-string down one octave. Changing to a low-G keeps the strings ascending all through the tuning. Known as linear tuning rather than re-entrant tuning 😀

Aldrine Guerrero is a great ukulele Teacher. A ukulele underground membership includes 2 15 minute live one on one classes with Aldrine a month amd weekly group classes, also live. It’s beyond cheap (like $120 for the entire year)… I love the ukulele with a low G instead of the high G string. Both are great. Other good Teachers: Christopher David Shannon, Matt Dahlberg, RockClass101.

@@TomoFujitaMusic, choices? You should see one of my distributor’s catalog… there are hundreds including color and wood variations and as you said from over $1k but down to $40. One of the things I truly like about the uke is it’s affordability. It’s hard to find a guitar that I’d put in my student’s hands for less than $150-250. Great change up on content, Tomo. Thank you.

I play ukulele and guitar (both very poorly) and I’m impressed that such a guitar expert would be open to getting actually teachings on ukulele traditional approaches. I would assume that if you can do guitar as well as you can that you’d automatically be able to do anything that a ukulele expert could do. I get that the high-G changes things a little, but I’d be really curious what kind of things a pro uke player does that you’d want to learn.

Two things that suck about the Ukulele, it's range and musical application are quite limited, and it's not very challenging compared to the guitar or bass. Two upsides to the Ukulele, the limited range and tone can force you to get more creative when you're playing music other than what's written for it, and it being easier to play than a bass or guitar makes it an ideal starter instrument.
