I've reviewed thousands of KZfaq channels, and these are the things that happen before failure (but also how to fix them).
Here's how I'm helping creators: radicalyt.com/
I also share more outside KZfaq:

What’s the best rhythm for a successful video. I know fast cuts help keep your audiences attention but I don’t think you can have a video that’s 12mins with a cut every 1 to 2 seconds with out people getting annoyed or board and leaving.

I’ve been on here since 2018. I’m only now seeing better views. I’ve grown very slowly. I’ve absorbed all of the knowledge to an obsessive degree but didn’t know how to interpret it. Also needed to develop self awareness. Becoming friends with a big youtuber in my niche helped a lot too. And never giving up even when i felt like it.

One huge thing that actually improved me from watching you is collaborating with others. I made a small discord group with me and 5 other creators. We watch each others videos before release and then critique our thumbnails. My thumbnails were 4% CTR and now they range from 9%-12%. We have channels for notes on what works and what doesn’t.

@@pianopoly6219 I don’t :). I find it helpful to learn from other niche’s especially as I dip my toes into different categories. Every audience has different tastes and within 1 niche there can be a handful of audiences. It’s also really helpful to get critiques from people that don’t follow that niche. Everything feels more objective.

Wow, that's a really good idea! I'm in a small group of creators ( Not really centered around KZfaq) and we talk about our respective videos, but maybe we should try this too😊! And we started as a group because one of us is very good at reaching out to other creators in about the same situation and just suggest a zoom meeting. Easy as pie, and it has been extremely nice and easy to keep on meeting monthly.

It all depends on if you're here for the love of what you do on your channel or the love of money. I'm a small fishing channel and been doing it for awhile now. It doesn't matter to me if I have 2 subs or just over 400. It matters to me that I've entertained or helped someone with what I love to do. A guy commented and said he had a medical issue and can't fish for a long time, it's content like mine that keeps him in the game. Made me wanna cry and THAT'S WHY I'M HERE ON YT!!

yes. if we only create our channel just for the love of money, our audience can easily feel it When we share what matters to us most on our channel, audience who resonate with us will be attracted to our content or us as a creator. The money will come as we become more and more valuable to the marketplace

I’m at a moment where i won’t go for success but rather legacy, and look i don’t care if my channel changes 10 or 10 millions lives. I just want to share my experience. I just want to go the other side of the screen, and it’s ok if i don’t get very popular, because i would have shared what i need to. I recently chose to make YT part time only because I am a full time writer and I want to focus more on that. As a result, I produce less videos, but found more enjoyment in them, my audience loves the vids I do for them, and I have begun sharing my stories with my audience in the community tab and even created a choose-your-own-adventure story for them with polls for them to shape the story I would write. This has increased engagement, and while my channel remains small, I have found contentment because I am more in alignment with my true goals.

Every time I stray away from KZfaq, it's because there's some kind of perspective or skill that I need to learn, that I can't learn by grinding away at videos, but when I come back it's always better. Even if I'm doing the same thing it feels different and I think the audience can feel it too. I think it's important to give ourselves grace during the time we get pulled away because maybe there's something we nee to learn that can impact and help us reach our audience.

New KZfaq creators like me find the time thing to be critical. Once you are making a full time living from your channel it's easier to dedicate your time to creating content but when you have to pay the bills in non-KZfaq ways it becomes a tough juggling act. I have been building my channel for the last year with a huge amount of your advice and it's made a big difference. KEY TAKEAWAYS To make it on KZfaq, you gotta keep learning and using what you know, fast. Don't let haters or your own doubts mess with your vibe; that can really make or break you as a creator. It's not just about learning stuff, but actually doing something with it. If you don't, you'll probably get frustrated and might even quit. If you're into what you're making, you're more likely to succeed. Lose interest, and your content's gonna suffer. If you're not feeling it anymore, it's cool to focus on other stuff. No need to force it. Great video Nate

One thing that I have learned since becoming a content creator on KZfaq (or just having an existence online) is that when it comes to building your page, it will take some time. It’s kinda like the old saying “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. Also it doesn’t hurt to try out different ways to put together videos to see what works and what doesn’t. Another thing that I wanted to say before I forget, is that as the more popular you get you’ll get your share of haters too. And people who will label you as “cringe”. Now don’t get me wrong, you’ll have an audience who will love you and support you every way. But not everyone is going to like you and disagree with what you believe in. Even if it has reason for it, you can’t let it get to you by heart. Otherwise you’re going to have a harsh reality. Anyways that’s what I think, it don’t mean that the next creator will say the same. Good video!

agreed! As a smaller content creator myself I found that when I started truly focusing on my videos and quality the subscribers comments and views came in. I used to upload less frequently and didn’t work as hard on vids and my subs and views showed but i said that as a mask for my laziness despite me having all the time in the world :\ so yeah! hard work gets you as far as you work hard

1) Learning rate. If you're not picking up the right things and being effective, you'll fail. 2) Mindset. Gotta stick with it. Filter out ugly feedback. Your own narrative can steer you into a ditch. 3) Application rate. If not enough action, you'll lose momentum, and you'll pack it up. 4) Stop caring. What does enough mean? Other priorities can take over.

The "expectation" of "taking off" that doesn't happen . . . leads to failure. The unrealistic expectation. One just needs to continue to work toward success: however an individual solves the problem and gains knowledge. Putting a time limit on it causes PRESSURE. Pressure = STRESS. Don't do that. Have a positive FUN learning experience and cut out all the stress. This isn't a contest to be won, it's an experience to be had.

Thank you for this Nate! Something I really need to work on. I had a viewer tell me she liked my videos but I talked to fast so I’ve made a point to talk slower and I’m seeing results in my retention so I’m guessing she wasn’t the only one who thought that. I’m glad I took her advice.

I see what you did there at the end, sir. Love your content and it would be great if you could make a video on how to hone in on YT analytics to discover who is watching your videos and how to curate videos around that audience. TYSM for all your vids!

You've only failed when you stop innovating and give up - otherwise, you simply haven't succeeded yet! Also, remember to give your mind some downtime every day. My most original creative ideas usually come to me while I'm taking a shower, and I figure this to be because that is when my conscious mind is kind of idling and free to wander while the hot water and relaxing scent of the products I use work their magic on my body. Appreciate the moments of stillness and silence. 🧘‍♀

There are times when I feel like giving up. I take a couple days away and then come back and look at it again with a fresh mind. I'm still here so it works. As far as what I need to do, I know what it is just working up the bravery to make the next move.

I have had both, my shorts and long video's suddenly stopped getting views. In surprising fashion from the other video's I have made over the year. Not knowing what is happening or how to fix it really intensifies the burnout for me. I'm still trying, but it's difficult if you can't figure out what to fix. Love your videos, though!! I'll get there one day, haha!! Thanks!!

I agree with you Nate that my learning is holding my channel back. I have been agonizing about how to record my content in a different way instead of practising how to do it. That stops now. I'm going to practise with my next video instead of putting it off!

Hi Nate thanks for your hard work. I won’t mention the channel but the only way I found where you went, was someone said your channel name in their comments. Found you then subbed. The comment was deleted from their comment section the next day. I get the feeling their not what everyone thinks they are……

The key is impressions. Whether through YT recommending or coming up near the top in search. Without impressions the video will sit there doing nothing.
