Great video. I was a process control engineer (just retired 2/21/24) I would always stress test my projects just to make sure it would work under all conditions. Also depending on the government. But I found away of earning more income despite my Retirement. $57k weekly returns has been life changing, after so much struggles.

I'm not going to waste money buying fireworks this year. I'd rather buy extra groceries.

Us old folks that are living on social security, it's been a total nightmare to pay on anything. If it wasn't for VA paying for my medical bills and prescriptions, and United Healthcare giving me a $300 a month food allotment , I couldn't servive.

I'm going to be staying home doing yard work. Maybe stopping to say hi to some family. 🎉 I agree what's to celebrate 🥳? Middle America 🇺🇸 is getting screwed by our politicians.

Last year we spent over $41000 on health care and related items. And we do have health insurance. What angers me is our politicians giving our money to Illegal people they let into the USA, and on senseless Wars with money that this country doesn't have. Yet regular people have to pay for this lunacy. This year we took a day trip, where in the past we would spend a week camping.

I agree with "Old Geezer". I'm going to be 75 this August and I'm petrified of the future. I really think the US is going down the tubes. There isn't a decent candidate to vote for and with all the violence and illegal people entering the country, let me just say, I'm glad I won't be around for all of it. I'm homeless, breast cancer patient. No fireworks. Just food & local park with my kids. There's not really much to celebrate. Freedom is not free anymore. Its reserved only for those who can afford it.

Forget fireworks, thanks to Brandon I can't really afford anything. November and late January can't get here soon enough.

I live on social security I only get 848.70 because SSI said that I got overpaid I don't see how I only get 943 this 9 months I've been getting 848 I'm barely making it I don't want to be homeless again and as for the 4th of July I'm eating what ever I can scrounge up and setting in my yard facing the park where they're doing fireworks this year because I can't afford to do anything I can't afford to buy clothes and I'm living off of free churches and I'm very thankful and blessed for these people donate

I had tracking done on 6 months of insurance on a money order. Geico said they did not get it. The paper in my hand said they did. I counseled my 53-month computer service thru spectrum. Now they are charging my card 83 a month on the house i no longer live in. This is ridiculous and hell is just beginning. Good luck

Honestly, even if I did have more money to spare, I still would not, with the state of this country, I just... do not feel it no more. I do not feel proud. The citizens here are amazing, but our government is a deep disappointment. This holiday, was suppose to be of proudness and I no longer feel that, further we go down this rabbit hole. But if there was a celebration, but for OUR hard working people of the country, not this clown show that supposedly is ahead of this chaos

2024 and the last couple years have been the worst of my life. I cannot really afford food as prices are so high l live off more SSA than i used to get, but my rent just rose to more than half that amount. Living in the greater Phoenix Valley is dangerous in the summer heat, but fans and a/c are very expensive. I am 76 and houebound, no longer have a car due to my illnesses. I will not be able to buy fireworks, high fire season in AZ.

I am an Australian in the State of Queensland, we have a freestop camping park near us, we go chat to people there, this year there are so many homeless and desperate people with no house, living in cars, or vans or ute backs. Never in my life and i am over 60 have i ever witnessed this, like this, we have lived on this area for over 25 years, this is heatwrenching. We spoke to one man, he was crying, he was in despair. People, we need to turn back to Christ Jesus and repent, walk in love, help each other, stop using people. It looks like Gods judgement is here to me. Murder, attacks, no respect for Godly authority or Jesus anymore, hatred, child abuse, elder abuse, husband and wife abuse, loneliness, theft, suicides, unGodliness is out of control. The news is full of it. This appears to only going to be getting worse as people invest in sin more and turn against Their Creator. The 4th of July is reported the be the heaviest travel weekend of the year. So obviously there are a lot of people who can afford to travel. As far as not buying fireworks is concerned. Fireworks are a complete waste of money. If you want to see fireworks, most cities or counties have firework shows you can see for free.

Nothing different for us. We didn't travel or buy fireworks. But if we did, we certainly couldn't now!

Looks like we are headed to a depression. Ive been seening houses going on sale and stll for sale. Restaraunts are closing. Prices are so high in tbe grocery stores. To buy peaches and other fruits is a luxury nowadays. Getting scary.

Spent $140+ on a less than half full shopping cart of food, a shopping cart that is just about 2/3 the size of the carts I grew up using. Vacations?…? I’m just hoping to not have to file bankruptcy

I think this will be worse then the 1970’s I was very young then but I remember my parents being so upset! We are on fixed income and have put off doctors because we needed the co pay money to have food! We do not eat out or go places. We live in rural MS . We don’t have credit cards or a house payment anymore. I can’t imagine living in a city with all the cost. Our normal bills are double now because of inflation. It is so sad

I’ve bought fireworks twice in the last 15 years. The last time I spent about $40 in 2021 my daughter was terrified I would hurt myself after I explained to my 2 year old the dangers. So she wouldn’t run up to the pretty colors coming out of the fountain. I’ve only been going to firework shows most years. I also service dumpsters at the local firework stands. They have had absolutely no trash to pickup since they could start selling, and I haven’t seen vehicles parked to browse this year. I feel bad for them. Hot unpleasant summers sleeping in a tent in this 100 degree weather and they’re losing money this year.

Haven’t purchased fireworks for decades t Plus too many super dry areas and my town doesn’t allow for it. I will be working. I used to spend $200-$400 per month on groceries. Now I tend to spend $100 - $140 per month. I am a bargain shopper and I grow salad veggies, greens as well as a variety of herbs, garlic and green onions. I do the mung bean sprouts. I try to support local growers as well

Wasted money big time buying fire works, never did never will

We usually buy around 400 dollars in fireworks. This year we are spending 0 dollars. I can't justify the expense when food is so costly. It doesn't feel like a holiday. Just another day I have to get through until payday. Stressed out and melancholy.

There wasn't very many fireworks being blown off in my neighborhood this year. It was a really nice change. Usually it sounds like a warzone for hours and hours.

I'm going to the beach near my friend's house...private beach...low key...don't need to spend a lot of money...just some food,drinks and laughs and watch the fireworks at the park!

I stopped by a firework stand just yesterday to get those colored smoke balls for a bee problem I am having. The guy had a firework called The Five Minute Show... cost $90. Not surprising this year is slow but, really, should have seen it coming in 2021.
