@calebniederhofer6529
@calebniederhofer6529 Жыл бұрын
Dave is wrong on this one. It is hard to say, with just the call. It probably has nothing to do with a honest mechanic. Kia, and Toyota both had a massive amount of issues with oil consumption. It leads to catastrophic failure. You can’t replace it with a used engine, because you will have the same issue. 10k is not out of the range, for a new motor, labor, warranty, at a dealership.

She should look for work as a Kitchen Designer! She's already a pro in the kitchen, knows the commercial side, and interior design plays a major role in kitchen design. The company I work at (not in kitchens) pays a base salary of $32K+ and commissions on the the margins, so entry level kitchen designers already start out around $50K and our better designers make >$100K plus annual bonuses. It tends to be a 40-50 hour a week job. The trick is getting that first job, even if it's a Home Depot or Lowe's or something. They're often looking for a new designer somewhere in the area. Work there for about 3-5 years making $30K to $50K before going out to a smaller better compensating company and build a book of business of parallel industry pros.

But from the story and the math i bet its a kia with the 2.4 and they all burn oil it burned so much ouk that it ran out of oil amd blew up and the used engines all have the same issue thats why the mechanics including my self recommend a long block from the dealer as a permanent fix but she could buy a running used engine even though it burns oil just to get it running and sold or running and adds oil every time she buys gas

Dad or a trusted guy can go with her AND DAD and buy a $4000 used car for cash. Or, if this car "has a bad piston" it needs a new engine, maybe get a junkyard low mileage one installed for $3000 or less. If pistons are a common problem for that engine, the junkyard one could be upgraded before install.

We've got a meek little 22year old girl at home. Where is her dad guiding her to figure this out? She's "taken it to body shops" and "it has a bad piston or something"... She has no clue. This should be a $3000 repair not $10K. Dad where are you? Even if you're not an expert you probably know a guy.

Why depends on state and location 15 might be the minimum some make. Since when have the lower income people had great options? I have found getting a good job requires several factors all of which either take luck, time, money, opportunity etc. Getting better paying jobs seems to get more complicated over time!!

“I work as a cook at a fine dining restaurant and bring home $1800 a month” This pay rate is horrible for fine dining. If she is pulling 40h a week, she makes maybe 12/h and this is why the restaurant industry is filled with people who need 2nd and 3rd jobs. However, this lady needs to figure out where her money is going and find work that makes money.
