I watched a different video before this one and followed their instructions to unplug power cord, hold down power button on back of the tv, and plug back in. Did that several times to no avail. But your instructions included unplugging external connections, too. I unplugged the power cord but also unplugged the two HDMI cables from the tv. I waited about 10 minutes, then plugged in the power cord and immediately the tv came on. Wow. I plugged in my HDMI cables and I'm back in business. Thank you SO much. I was freaking out thinking I might have to go buy a new tv.

I hope this could help me, I have the Bravia kdl-49wd759. The complete power of my room somehow turned off completely, I got it back on and everything works except the TV. But the socket isn't the issue, only the TV doesn't work. I can't imagine it being completely broken, so I think it's either the power chord or whatever. I've tried anything until now except holding down the power button while it's plugged off. But you said you tried it several times and with a break in between. This is my last hope I guess, I don't know what I should do then if that doesn't work. I have no idea how much the service costs to repair this.

I trusted Sony while looking for a new TV back in 2021 and bought my Bravia. Don't know what my next brand will be, but likely NOT a Sony. If I will be crap again, it'll be less expensive crap, at least.

Some issues may fix by just unplug the power supply for about 5 minutes and put it back. The video is helpful but the point is they not put the voice instruction. Just they put on the subtitle. Viewer need to turn on CC to make it appear and you will see their explanation.

I have a Sony XBR55X850D which is a 2016 model. I have tried all these steps and there is still no power to my tv. A tv only being 4 years old should not have this problem. I ordered a new power cord to see if that’s the issue but paying for a service on the tv will probably cost as much as me getting a new television, thoughts?

We had a storm. I tested the power board and did a visual of the main board. Could find nothing wrong with the latter, but it was evident the power board was bad. Replaced it and now I get a blinking red light (8 times) and nothing else. I read somewhere to hold in the power button while plugging in. We did that and got a dark blue screen but nothing more - no logo, etc. After about a minute, it went out. We have the same model in a 65". Would love to hear your outcome and will share mine as well!

Fix for me: hold the manual power button at the bottom of the TV for around 30 seconds. The TV will click and turn on.

@@thilakrajg3689 I got my replacement the other day. They replaced my TV. You need to report it to their support so the technician can check if it can still be fixed or not.. mine turned out unfixable. So they replaced it because I still have warranty

Why my tv Sony bravia make sound buzzing after i on it.. and then i'm recheck that system that eco system make other sound buzzing.... I think that issue about power supply for my tv .. any suggestion for i'm fix that...

When I switch my sony bravia tv on at the mains. It makes a high clicky sound inside of the frame (as if booted) then makes another low noted clicky sound as if something in it has switched back off automatically. I don't see any energy saving switch and I doubt it's my remote that is the issue due to the 2nd disturbing clicky sound the tv makes as the mains gets turned on.

@@BatMan-dm2cl well it turned out there was a small physical hidden power button on the side of the tv. It turned it on. From there my remote wouldn't work. So I guess In the end it was the remote. But it managed to fix it's self in a couple of days. I reccomend If you ever get it working and on... Go into settings and give the remote an update. But check the back side of your tv to see if there are any power buttons to turn it on from there.

Other solutions I found online was .. Take batteries out of remote Hold power button on remote for 60 seconds to drain remaining battery. Press repetitively on every button a few times on the remote to try unjam buttons if they are jammed. Cuz a button in the remote could be jammed making the remote useless and therefor not being able to turn on the TV. Then hit the remote a few times hardly and put batteries back in.

Also check if you have an energy saving switch on the back off your tv. It can shut it's self off. I didn't have one but it's worth checking

I posted an answer a year ago but have since slightly altered the steps. Here's what I do now when my tv won't turn on and it works every time. I have these instructions printed and taped to the back of the tv so when I need them, they're handy. Troubleshooting Sony Bravia TV 1. Power off tv 2. Unplug external connections (HDMI cables) from tv 3. Unplug tv cord from wall outlet 4. Hold in power button on back of tv for 30 seconds 5. Plug tv cord back in wall outlet 6. Make sure cords are inserted securely on back of DVR 7. Plug in HDMI cables if applicable 8. Turn on tv using the power button on back of tv TV should be working ok now.

Not sure what I did to fix mine (after being convinced it was dead), but it did involve these steps: 1. Unplug HDMI and USB devices from back of TV 2. Unplug TV for a long while (but maybe 1 minute will do) 3. Hold in power button on TV while plugging TV power cord back into surge strip 4. Let go of TV power button (mine is on bottom of Sony model X900H/X90H) I waited for SONY to appear onscreen before releasing the power button, but it never showed. At this point, I think I pressed it again, and THEN the TV finally went into the all-too-familiar reboot process, with the colourful shapes morphing into the word GOOGLE.

Sony has a policy where they need to replace the part which does not work, check it out with them if they have the part available for your specific model. In case the company does not have the part available (which usually they do not, as they upgrade new models and stop manufacturing old ones) ........... You will be lucky if they do not have the replacement part as in that case it is Sony's liability to replace and give you a new TV unit completely free coz it is they fault for not having the part. Check it if you are lucky. This policy is for TV below the age or 5 years since you bought them.
