I think their dedication to music is what impressed me the most about them. They’ve been a band now for 11 years, about half their lives even for the oldest. And yet they still love it.

Or they don't have the opportunity like the warning did. Their parents supported them and sacrificed so much for their daughters. There were times for instance when the family had to travel on airplane just to play one show and then fly right back home. How many parents would say yes to that? Also, them being all from the same household they were able to form a band young. Other awesome child musicians don't get that chance. Lil Joey on guitar is not gonna meet a lil Bobby on drums at elementary school if u know what I'm saying

This is when The Warning Army was created. Many of us hadn't heard good Rock since the late 80s. Then these girls feel in love with it and their talent was nurtured by amazing parents and everyone else in their extended "family" to become the fresh sound of Rock today. How can you not feel pride for them. They literally grew up as a band in front of us. And they are the nicest people (who transform into such bad-ass rock Stars)

Yep, all these early covers played in their basement studio. Their dad had once owned a recording studio so he had a good knowledge equipment-wise what they would need to sound decent. They were not pushed to do this as many child prodigies but were self-driven with a single vision and a notorious perfectionist streak. There are numerous stories of Dany refusing to stop practicing until she got a certain part figured out. That is why they are total rock stars at roughly 20 years old. It doesn't sound condescending at all, we all love them like they are family. You've probably noticed. Thanks for the reaction, and please continue exploring. You've just scratched the surface.

I had to smile at your comments! I watched another KZfaq reactor viewing them for the first time, with a similar reaction. She viewed this song, immediately followed by a recent live performance. "Work that wah, girl!" - interview quote from future Dany. Yeah, this is cute, but they're deadly serious! It never gets old. They did a bunch of covers back then for the grandparents. Dad put them on KZfaq because the files were too big to email. People found them and they went viral. BOOM! Yeah, Ale and Pau started EARLY. There are funny videos of Pau playing at age 6, 9, 10... and killing it. People laughed at their soundchecks. They played, and melted faces. This is a special family. Try their "Out of the Basement" cover of The Foo Fighters' *Pretender.* Watch their audition concert for Berklee College of Music in Boston, the Liceo De Monterrey concert, June, 2015. They played four covers, then five originals from their first EP. Then imagine Ale handing her teacher a permission slip to be excused from class so she could go record an album... in fourth grade! This band's history is jaw dropping crazy.

They had tremendous support from their family, especially the mom and dad. Their dad sold his Harley motorcycle in order to support his daughters in what they wanted to do to buy all their instruments and amps and floorboards and everything else to make a home studio for them. That is a big commitment and it paid off. Please note that their family never pushed them into this, they just supported them in what they wanted to do. This video was specifically uploaded to YT in order for their grandparents to see it and it went viral and basically started their career. Great reaction and like you, most of us get emotional to see this video and where it all started. We all feel like we have seen them grow up and get better and better in the songs they produce now.

I saw this back in the day (about a year after it was originally posted in 2014), and I can still remember my reactions to it... 30 seconds in: "Damn, they're pretty good for their ages!" A minute and-a-half in: "Actually, they're pretty good, period, no matter their ages." Two minutes in: "I've bought tickets to see bands that weren't this good." Two and-a-half minutes in: "The drummer is especially good. She's just killing it." Three minutes in: "Jeez, they are NO JOKE! If they keep at it, I could see them being as good as Metallica someday." Four minutes in: "Actually, I think Paulina may already be better than Lars..." Five minutes in: "Keep an eye on these ladies. They're going to take over the rock world someday..."

So many things need to align for things like The Warning to happen: Parents having the means and willingness to support their kids, all of them (including their parents) to have the discipline and certain stubbornness to not give up, some workaholic tendencies 🤣, finding a good manager with the right connections, some lucky breaks like this video and of course having the “talent” and affinity for music. It’s 🤯 how all aligned for them.

I was fortunate enough to be in school when music was taught nearly every year in K-6, with organized band classes in 6-12. Just as part of the generalized curriculum for the first couple years, then specific instruments thereafter. I'm 60, and started playing in third grade and have never looked back. While my career was mostly in software, playing music has always been an important part of my life... and I'm not sure I'd ever have been interested if I didn't learn about it in school starting very early on.

Cuteness overload for sure. This is the first video I saw of them and that was it. I have followed and supported them since. We all feel the same way, proud and happy seeing where they are now. FYI: at this time Alejandra at age 9 has only been playing for two years; they have only been playing together for two years as well; they did this in one take, no do post-pro; Dany practiced her Hetfield "stank face", which she was giving to herself because the wall in front of her is a mirror wall; this is their home basement studio they have named "The Warning Cave." They have several other covers from this age as well. It is at this age they start writing their own music which they released April of the following year as an EP "Escape the Mind". Ale wrote a complete song by herself at age 9. It is the first track on the EP.

Smiling while feeling proud of them is a common side effect when experiencing The Warning. My favorite story about this recording is Pau and Ale being mad at Dany because she spend more time practising her angry Hetfield face than her guitar parts, it turned out alright in the end though. It's not only the talent and hard work but also smart decision making that plays a huge part in their current succes. If you want to see them talk about that watch their TedX talk from 2017 (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ptBlqMhkspPaZqM.html) where they also play three songs from their first full album. Warning; the smiles may be permanent after that one!

Okay, now that you’ve heard this, you really need to see what they did after they had years of experience with this song, a couple original albums under their belts, and permission from Metallica to mess with it (as long as they didn’t change the lyrics). Watch the live concert version, not the studio track, which was the lead track on Metallica’s _Blacklist_ album; they collaborated with a Canadian singer on the studio track, who wasn’t bad, but it’s just not the same. Plus, this is a live performance band; they just always do better on stage. This video was originally meant just for their grandparents to see how they were progressing with their music, but it was too big to email, so they uploaded it to KZfaq and it went viral, and that led to where they are now. (I’m sure you saw that there are about 25 million views by now.) Metallica themselves saw it, and Kirk Hammett commented “The drummer kicks maximum ass!”

Just think, they are already writing music for their first EP "Escape the Mind" (2015) and other songs as well, followed by XXI Century blood (2017) and the EPIC QOTMS album (2018)....once in your lifetime you may be lucky enough to witness something like this, glad I am still around. There's a thing KZfaq has taught us: Never underestimate kids. You're right to be proud of them, Justin! :D I think the first kid musician that amazed me was a little Russian boy called Anton Oparin (who had some videos going back to when he was 8, I think, but it's his Paul Gilbert covers at 11 that made my jaw go slack). I hope he hasn't been turned into a human sacrifice to the ambitions of some horrible old man, now. He never made it big in the West, but seems to have done quite well out of a Russian guitar technique channel. He's a complete maestro. (So another thing KZfaq teaches is that the great musicians are often unknown.) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gcqXdKZ9ppjaf2Q.html ("Shred" is the wrong way to think of these pieces. What it is is Neoclassical, where the guitarist plays the electrical guitar at something approaching the expressiveness and skill of a classical violinist, for example. If you take it as a "bow toward the orchestra" you're on your way to understanding it as more than just "twiddly" music. Yes it can get twiddly, and the lower quality instances of it are just that, and superficial. The better quality stuff - such as you'll regularly get from the writer of the Concerto Gilberto - is more than what a surface appreciation suggests. And it's humble. The guys who can do this stuff know how gigantic the shoulders they're trying to stand on are.) Apropos that humbleness element, I think that's one of the things that makes these performances by kids so appealing - that mixture of confidence to go where angels fear to tread with the kind of down to earth youthful openness that's humble enough to be just a little shy all at the same time. Might be able to do Paganini on the guitar, but also still coming to terms with the awkwardness of feeling gawked at by a bunch of people. (And all of them are "grown ups" if you're 11). The other guy on stage with him is his big brother. Pretty snazzy bass playing, too, but he's stepping back for his little brother. It's also the way these are also often families all looking out for each other that might contribute to the proud feeling you get.

A credible performance. Might share this one with the wife? She is busy today. We will see. My head is someplace else this morning. Just watched a reviewer with +300k subs. All the guy had on you was the 265k subs. I have no reason to watch that dude a second time. Keep up the good work Justin.

This is a perfect time to check out their follow-up with Alessia Cara: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b9p7hMqW2KnHhJc.htmlsi=JN9Xc0HFvQZPYbyD. The first time they did Enter Sandman, it was a cover. The new version is a reimagining (and an improvement, I think). It's particularly striking to see how Ale has gone from the shortest member to the tallest, and all three of them are striding onto the set as confident young women.
