Got into an accident with a guy who had a 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid. Late at night, dude had smoked rear taillights that were so dark, and had a matte black wrap, that I didn't see his car until it was too late. Both his insurance and my insurance took my side, and he had to pay for the damages to both cars. Mine was ok, but his Tesla was totalled.

I go around to wrapped cars all the time and remove the wrap from the reflectors. They're there to make you visible at night, and if you cover them up, you're basically asking to get into an accident at night.

@@kennyt5211Whats the chance of this happening? Whats the chance at the same time someone is going to come onto the shoulder? (unless its 9pm or winter i guess) and then what is the chance someone will not see your car? Even an all blacked out car I have no trouble seeing at night. I do understand in a split second it may be hard to tell if a black car is there at first but it shouldnt be too difficult. Also license plates are a bit reflective to help with that. I dont think its that deep to black out reflectors its not like all cars have them in the back anyway and if you're relying on reflectors to save your life you're kinda dumb. Also check your battery often so this doesn't have to happen to you and you're good to go should never be in this situation.

@@deregulationICI do detailing as a side gig, literally if it just rains, that area gets dirty very easily. Also given the aerodynamics when driving, that area is where the air forms a turbulent wake. That basically means any dust particles that floats over the car’s boundary layer will pretty much guarantee to hit that specific spot.

They just started added those things on cars in like the last 8-10 years, even less for other brands. Really doesn’t change much. Sure it helps on back roads/ farm roads. I'm from Japan, and I used to work at a Lexus subcompany that makes the interiors (leather goods/parts) rx/ls/rc models. I gotta say, those cars are absolutely stunning! I've had the chance to sit in one, but unfortunately, I've never had the thrill of driving it.
