Well as bad as the discovery of betrayal by your friend and the woman yo promised to marry was. You found out before the wedding and saved yourself a lot of hassle. Thi wasn't a "mistake" that was fixable or one "I never meant to happen." It was a mutual choice by both of them in full knowledge of how you would feel if you found out.
