Toby played really good and smooth, as expected from a pro player. I feel like Aylex is taking it easy though, like he's not putting too much effort into winning but rather having fun for content, I think he could have scored more. Also correct if im wrong but is Aylex's footwork wrong or maybe it's just for the sake of this box game? My coach told me that when you lift or clear to defend, both your feet should be side by side, not front and back which should be used for defending net shots.
@jetsten3052
@jetsten3052 10 ай бұрын
In doubles defense, depending on play style, some people defend with the right leg in the back for more range of motion. Box game is halfcourt so using doubles defense stance would be better.

It also involves a bit of probability game. Like 4:36, most players will smash straight. Getting left leg behind will give more room to hit better return on that side. If the smash is flatter I bet Aylex could save it.
@8P3ths
@8P3ths Ай бұрын
In doubles, your defending stance points to where the bird is. If the bird is on the left side, your right foot is in front. If the bird is on the right side, your left side is in front. If it's in the middle, you can also have it side to side with one foot forward slightly or something.

Also no, if Toby wanted to, he could've absolutely smoked him way harder + it's half-court box game so Toby can't do as much.

I have a problem with the forehand from the boundary line.... the problem with footwork is when I try to chase the shuttle after dribble from a short service line and the opponent returns it on my forehand boundary line.... Most of the time I try to drop it onto the net.... but the opponent is always ready on the net to smash me... so how can I return my forehand to my opponent's boundary line with proper footwork and technique...

There are things you need to know. 1. Remember, the Olympian is 30 years old, and i think he is retired. 2. Be honest, looking by his skill, I do not think Aylex was a national bronze medallist unless he stopped for some reason. Idk 3. There was a point when Toby's shot hit the baseline, and Aylex said it was out, like what.
