The problem with cheaters is that they drive down the ratings of honest players. So if you find yourself playing against a 1200 rated player who seems to be playing quite well, it could just mean that this player has a much higher natural rating and it had a string of losses against cheaters.

Tbh on chess the cheaters arnt nearly as prevelant. You probably would face a cheated once every 50-60 games or so. And the likelyhood that they get caught and get you get the rating back is pretty high. So a 1200 warrants his 1200 rating. The odds of facing cheaters in a row is veryyy low

@@cringelord-yx5kq i think we're at a point where we can't escape cheaters in online gaming... i play counter strike and it's terrible there, i'm practically done with it. was thinking of starting chess but seems it has a cheater problem too. i think anything competitive + online is virtually inescapable, most games have their integrity totally ruined. sad

This video is amazing and its hopefully going to bring some improvement. The only reason i think that the current cheat detection isn't so stringent is because banning innocent strong players can be devistating but i think if factors like comparing blitz, bullet and rapid rating, rating growth and win percentage are all taken into account (not just one of them) then there should be improvement.

Kramnik did a recent interview on C-Squared where he adressed the issue of online cheating after doing some investigation himself and the numbers he came up with are shocking. Great Video. Subbed. Keep up the great work.

I think anything over 75% winrate should be watchlisted and 85% investigated before 50 games as when a player is new they don’t have accurate pairing and when they are paired with weaker players they win. If they begin winning against stronger players, their pairing goes to stronger players. If they lose these new stronger players, the pairing stays at slightly stronger. I get paired against stronger opponents due to my settings (-100+200). My opponents abandon or I get paired against A SANDBAGGER. The sandbaggers resign before move 10.

Bro even 65% winrate is very impossible to a normal players 😂 even some of titled players winrate is bad to 45% or 50% the higher 1 is from Hikaru that 61% overall winrate but that is super gm bro 😂 including Magnus that 78% winrate but he is not a cheater he is also a super gm, while look at the profile of Botez sisters bro like Alex and Andrea, Andrea got 45% winrate while Alex a WFM is 43% imagine bro Alex Botez is a titled players but she can't achived 65% even many other grand master bro or titled player or even a top players can't achived 60% or 65% winrate bro so that is very impossible for a normal player. . Even the accuracy of 90% to 100% consistently is impossible 😂 yes Magnus Carlsen is playing thousands of matches with 90% winrate but that is Magnus Carlsen 😂 we are not Magnus Carlsen bro. So for me 60% to 100% winrate with brandnew account and playing 90% accuracy and became 2000 ratings in up for only 30 to 40 matches that's 100% cheater no doubts bro.

@@Raymund38TVMI still disagree with you, from only one reason. I bon't know if the system can basically afford your starting elo. If your starting elo was always 1000, but you are a really good player, is very possible to have even 100% rate, until to go to your real elo. Maybe not with super high accuracy, but again is very logic to have very big accuracy if you play against actually really lower elo player... If the system was looks like good enought that you can start even in high elo, is possible no reason at all to a good player to not start with high elo. Finally, a lot of great players do speed run test, to see how fast they can go on his real elo. And of course here we have 100% win rate even with much higher than 2000 elo.

This is not an original idea, the website is riddled with people like you who are curious about gaming the system and it's very annoying. Saying that the damage is limited because the rating is refunded is ignorant, you're not giving back the 10 minutes your opponents wasted playing a computer thinking it's a human. These are not your friends that you can let in on the unfunny shenanigans, these are strangers which may not have very much free time, scarce time that you disrespected by doing this. These are some of the things that you should have considered before thinking this is a good idea for content

Unethical is putting it way too lightly I'm sure in the long run your views and engagement on the video will be a justification for this but if you have seen the countless times people have cheated grandmasters on youtube and the damage it does to their psyche and the love of the game is brutally disheartening. I imagine for most people in the beginner rankings being cheated is enough to make them quit entirely or worse to begin cheating themselves. Idk somehow I feel like their had be a better way of executing this regardless anything for the clicks I guess.

The video wasn't intended to get myself to 2000. I don't care about the ELO. It's to figure out holes in the cheat detection system. I had my account banned the day after the video was uploaded (you can go look up BlazeMarc on chess.com if you want. It's suspended). I have my own personal chess.com account which I play on regularly with a 1400 ELO that actually matters to me.

I am not sure who I despise more, genuine chess players or cheaters, probably genuine players, the whole game is filled with arrogant obnoxious a-holes, so who really cares about cheaters. You have people so desperate to win they will win anyway they can, even when they are down lots of pieces, but they have an edge on the clock they will continue, just so they can win on time, none of them have an grace to resign, the whole game is filled with tossers. You play unrated games you will win against, much, much higher rated players, but that will never happen with rated games, proof how much cheating is going on.

So the way I do it is I play myself until I am like -7 / -9 down then I crank up the ELO on the Chess Assist chrome extension and obliterate the other person. They get so salty lol

That's a very dumb thing to do in this case. If you ban this guy, he is just 1 fish in the sea, banning him will literally not change anything. However, this particular fish is willing to give useful information about how cheating happens in online chess, and how to avoid it. The work this guy did is actually against cheating.

That's not what you wanna do. I'm trying to help chess.com improve algorithm. Not make a handbook to cheat. There's no point in winning if you wanna cheat for it.
