Thanks for another great video Andrew. What I like about all your videos is that you actually build a lot of options. People who has no idea can easily learn and figure out their preferences in building a unit like that. As we all know it isn’t cheap exercise so you give the people a quite good basics from where anyone can start.

I am so glad you are building another troopy camper. It is truly a joy to follow your builds. Thanks for sharing your passion. I have learned so much from you Andrew. Even though I am buying a 5 seater Defender 110 td5 2006 (with only 60 000km on the odo) these days, I can put all of the things I have learned from you into building the weekend tourer best suited for my use. My goal is to go simple and classic. Something I learned from you : Only add the products our family really needs, and nothing more. Howling moon tourer 160 rrt, my greenland kayak or canoe, primus omnifuel, coffee pot, cooking pot, dry food, plates, cups, chairs, table, fishing gear, simple tarp/awning, clothes, boots, first aid kit, headlamp, saw, knife and axe for firewood. Water, snacks, and off course tobacco and beer 😊Thank you so very much.

Well said mate. I was planning on getting a troopy myself but my build would be 100% different from your choices and opinion as I’m a much younger bloke and only need a custom foam mattress slapped in the back to enjoy touring Australia.

I ordered my very first 4x4 last May and it's a 79series Dual Cab, hopefully she arrives before Christmas. It's going to help me create my own adventures around Oz.

I love you Andrew. You are one of my main inspirations on Overland. I’ve consistently watched your channel since I discovered it in 2018. And I’m so happy you bought another Troopy! I looking forward to your plans with it! I also learn about new and different ways to outfit a vehicle, as well as off road driving strategies,bc of your films. I will be purchasing a Tacoma, being an American I don’t have the option to buy a Troopy :( but I have a lot planned as far as a well done rig.

Hi stand beside you saying that it would be more than awesome to have one of those here in the United States. Toyota diesel ! 5 spd ! I bought a 96 Jeep Cherokee because it’s bare-bones four-wheel-drive and it’s great. But I love Toyota so much more

What I’d love to see you do is try the Terrain Tamer parabolic springs and their pro shocks. It would be an interesting comparison from your ARB BP51 set up on the last one.

I had a complete rethink on my 200 Sahara, it has a GVM upgrade and I was still over the GVM with my Kimberley Kamper attached. AGM batteries out, Lithium in etc, I took 25KG's out of the black widow drawers, The 60% of the middle seats weights 47KG, Luxuries like a drag chain are gone, they weight 11kg's.

Your coin? Your colour. I would have gone for the sand colour for 2 reasons: dark colours bring a higher heat load and they seem to show every speck of dirt. Looking forward to your new series based on weight management.

You could build the same vehicle 100 times over, and I’d still watch it. Your knowledge of overlanding, overlanding equipment, etc, is second to virtually none. There’s so many that pretend to know. But you’re one of a handful that has 40 years of experience in REAL overlanding conditions. It’s why I continue to watch whatever series you put out. Thank you

Iveco have offroad vans "straight off the showroom floor" with heavier payload carrying capacities and are more cost effective. Solid front and rear axles, front, rear and central diff locks, larger and more comfortable interior and seating just to highlight a few things that make the iveco more enticing

Needed more space but liked the reliability of the Land Cruiser suspension and I liked the patrol solid axles. Ended up making hybrid. Works well in harsh Africa

have the interior 3D scanned and then have a modular carbon-fibre furniture made. same approach for the RTT/camper conversion. costly no doubt but you save it long term in fuel economy

Given that they basically haven’t changed it in almost 30 years not a huge loss. Toyota should have used all the money they blew on the LEXUS LFA to redesign it;( Six speed manual, workhorse style twin turbo I6 diesel, slightly larger tires, rear coil springs and 2wd, full time 4x4 high and low plus locked center differential.

we need something like this in the states not to big /wide for the trails short wb ,empty, basic wagon to do a car camper/overlander in, no frills, no 3 rows of seats to toss out ,now cut a hole in the roof, have pop top camper, Im tried of roof top tents or double cabs utes with a useless 5' box cant sleep in the back

@@brocksinclair66 Passes Euro4 emissions and I think those are more strict than the U.S. emissions. I am certain that something would have to be changed to meet U.S. regulations though. Airbags maybe? Crash testing and fuel economy testing.

Andrew it's torture watching you gleefully purchase Land Cruiser 70s, from a dealership, when I can never have one in the US. And even an American Land Cruiser of equivalent vintage would be old and dingy in comparison to a beautiful new one.

Swapping seats helps a lot. Insulation is also quite heavy, if you can remove it.

Actually, I was just watching his video about using induction cooking and what a mess it was with converters and batteries. The Rivian R1T (an electric truck) can add a slide kitchen that works off the truck’s batteries. It only degrades a couple of miles/day for cooking. The R1S (their SUV) would be a perfect camper for 2. I totally understand these will not work for Australia. You’re distances are insane an the charging infrastructure is non-existent. But that’s too bad, these things are AWSOME! You should look them up.

Me too, unfortunately I don't think I could afford to import an old one. Too bad Toyota hasn't realized they have done the same to the U.S. Land Cruiser as what happened to the Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, and Mitsubishi 3000GT. They didn't sell because they became priced out of the market that wanted them.

I've only had 2 daily drivers since 1980. Both of them have been Troopcarriers. Yes, I am also a bolted on fan boy of the Troopy. They can be family heirlooms that last essentially forever if you keep the maintenance up to them. Love em.

Like many others, I'm glad you went with the blue. And it's always lovely to see Gwynn make an appearance! Looking forward to the lightweight build, should be interesting to see what you include and what you decide you don't need (with the inevitable commentary from people who think they understand your priorities better than you!)
