One of the best ways to make any habits or methods or lifestyle to stick PERMEANTLY or at least long term. Best one amongst others zero risk of kundalini fkups or any idiots using drugs. One of the greatest, realistic and applicable meditation method. Well managed, structured, guided and free accommodation!all taken care of like a spoiled brat. Felt massive karmic cleanse and dropout of self sabotage programming. Highly recommended! ❤

Hahaha no!! I don’t know what to say really, it has been amazing and terrible at the same time but long term I recommend it and would do it again! The only thing is that the timing wasn’t perfect for me as I just moved back from a place I loved (Sydney) to London (not a fan), was unemployed and very unstable in general. I wish I had waited till my overall situation improved a bit. I would say my anger and anxiety in general has been record low in general thanks to the teachings from the retreat.

This was the best breakdown of it! I’m going again for my 2nd time and weirdly…I feel even more nervous! Having more awareness is definitely a double-edged sword. Anyways I appreciate you and this awesome video you made to help me get in the right mindset again! Wishing you all the best!

Glad it helped and happy practicing with round 2! I was actually thinking the other day, what would happen to my life if I meditated for 10 hours a day for a week. Then I realized I did it before lol. Then I thought mb I could take a week off to sit at home. All that to say - have a great course!

On my first day, thinking about sitting for ten hours long for a whole day and even worse 10 more days make me feel stress enough, I made decisions to just focus on breathing in every single minute as better as I could. I don't know what changes in me yet I don't feel the same and I want to keep doing each single day for 2 hrs as they recommend us to do.I just retreated today.I am glad that everything works well and dhammma Servers very helpful and kind.Everything there are just more than I expected from it.🇲🇲💪💗.

Sounds like your on a good path now! This retreat is called a boot camp of meditation it’s not always been beneficial for people. They are researching the negative effects that can happen at Brown University. Cheetah house. Many come back with difficulty. Sounds like your on a good path now! You might not need this retreat. I was sorta talked into my first retreat and looking back I don’t recommend it to people. Don’t discount your own hard work to get where you are now. That’s awesome!! Good luck!

It all depends on the kind of stuff embedded in the subconscious/unconscious, one's understanding how Dhamma - the Law of Nature works & one's capacity & willingness to do the work required to eradicate the the mental junk. The ever increasing levels of peace & joy one enjoys as the purification process proceeds is incomparable & cannot be expressed in words!

I would recommend shorter retreats to begin with. 10 days is a lot for a beginner. This would avoid or lessen the pain as your body and your mind gradually get used to it.

For goenka ji's vipassana, 10 days is the requirement for beginners. For subsequent courses there are 1 or 3 day courses available to strengthen practice.
@kailovi
@kailovi Жыл бұрын
10-days is adamant for a beginner with this technique. I've completed the 10day one in 2017, personally I'm very grounded and still, so the sitting was "easy" for me. The first days having a head full of ideas and no way to write them down was for me the true struggle. I did a 3-day short course later, and have to say it wasn't a good experience. 3days for me is too short, it's just enough time to get into the groove of it, and then it's over. But if you're someone who practices everyday, then the shorter one probably feels more complete. It's good to remember you don't need this specific technique to meditate, let go and turn inwards. This to me is the easiest for anyone who's not into the spiritual side of meditation as vipassana is focusing on teaching a specific technique, so it is more technical. Of course, just like with yoga, you can't separate meditation from spirituality, not really. You can sit without meditating, just like you can perform yoga movements without "turning inwards and connecting the micro with the macro", but you miss on the real benefits. But again, if one is just interested in meditating and becoming more mindful, there are many different techniques to try out that aren't as intense. Find what works for you.

Went on one in Australia. Got to day 5 hadn't slept for 3 nights. Was trying to dry out from weed with Valium but I didn't quite have it under control yet. Ran out of Valium's hence no sleep. Asked for help from the guys and they said the place wasn't for me and that I needed to get a psychiatrist assessment. Was hallucinating felt like I was tripping balls. Was very disappointed that they told me I needed to leave I was very prepared to stick it out, I just figured it was part of the growing and learning experience but they said it wasn't.

I am sorry that you went through that. It sounds like you want to grow, which is wonderful. It probably just was not the right time in your life to be there. I do think this was part of your growing and learning experience, just in a different way than what they are offering which is why they felt it was not part of the meditative growing and learning experience. This is just my guess, but it may be that they want you to be able to enter into the process free of drugs. You mentioned you were trying to dry out from weed and were using Valium; all of this can cloud your mind and be an impediment to really having a true experience versus a drug induced one. They probably wanted you to first work with professionals who can help you get clear of the drugs, and once you are free of those and feeling good on your own try again. I wish you all the best!

I hope you’re doing well. Sadhana has a certain way it will work, but its goal is enlightenment, if any healing is to come it is a side effect but it really isn’t meant to be a thing meant for healing the mind or to get off of things. But don’t be discouraged, there’s still so much you can do even today if you’d like! 😊 Don’t immediately listen to me, this is just my opinion and not any sort of professional advice of any sort but try to focus on safely getting off any of that stuff. As for sadhana, you can chant Om 21-108 times daily, also avoid anything labeled “advanced meditation” or “kundalini” or anything working on the higher centers without proper guidance. Dispenza has some good guided meditations but don’t try them until consulting with a professional and they give you the ok. One day when you are ready perhaps you can try something like Vipassana again if you’d like. Fast and steady can work with anything, and it’s awesome that you were that motivated, but fast and steady has a propensity for intensity which can then and often be interpreted as discomfort which leads to inconsistency and thereby higher likelihood of failure and worse outcomes. Slow and steady is always better my friend. May God’s peace and mercy be with you wherever you go now and forever.

Another misconception, Dhamma is not rooted in Buddhist philosophy, Buddhist philosophy is rooted in Dhamma. Buddha was not teaching Buddhism, he was teaching Dhamma, that's why it's called a "Dhamma center". Don't be confused about the chants, Goenka is chanting in Pali language. You can easily research the meaning behind the words and you will find that it is not rooted in Buddhism, only rooted in love and compassion for all beings, he constantly sharing us Metta vibrations, thats it. Pure love and wisdom! All the chants are a gift and has no roots in religion, just love and wisdom. - Be happy

I would probably go crazy because I just came back from schizophrenia after forcing myself to be back to the matrix. I went too deep into my mind that I saw reality as fluid and there was no anchor like I was just in a dream and it feels like I died.
