They had the cover off for...reasons(?), and a CRX dashboard (complete with all kinds of metal bracing on the back) that was propped up in the corner somehow fell into it. I'm not an electrician, so I don't know exactly what all happened, but 2/3 of the main bar that the breakers attach to was vaporized in about 3 seconds. Ngl, I would feel much safer handling uranium fuel rods that I do messing with electricity, you generally don't get a do-over.

X-Rays are ionizing radiation that penetrate solid matter and can harm bystanders. Blue/Ultraviolet lasers and microwave radiation are easily contained and non-ionizing. William Osman isn't exposing himself for long periods of time, and at most he's catching the sidelobe emissions of the X-Ray tube, so it's not that great an exposure, but it's far more risky than working with lasers.
