Can you really make homemade bread, sandwiches, dinner, and dessert even if you don't have any fancy tools or any kitchen at all? For the sake of my job, I hope so.

Love this idea, and I think you can take it much further - New challenge: primal cooking - I wanna see Josh hit up the forest with only a knife, the ingredients, and a cast iron skillet. Let's get some off the grid camping style cooking. Time to build your own fire and find a way to get heat naturally

Only a knife would be pretty limiting, for a lot of recipes you need at least a whisk and uhm a bowl for ingredients. And a cutting board. You can't do any sauce without a whisk, or at least a spoon

I would love a “but simpler” type of series where you make extravagant dishes that are traditionally complex, but instead make them only using what you might find in a depressing studio apartment… like just some pans, a knife and a hot plate. I know this video is a little tongue and cheek, but this is the first time I’ve genuinely liked your content in 2 years.

I live in a motorhome. It's tiny! So I packed up my stuff, filled a storage unit, and replaced everything - but smaller. So my 5 qt slow cooker is now 16 oz. You get the idea. I have a ton of outdoor cooking items like cast iron pans, a BBQ, Blackstone, a 2 burner propane stove, and a propane campfire. Not to mention the Zero G lawn chairs. And cocktails, that's a must. I've watched a lot of your videos and Cowboy Kent Rollins. His channel focuses on outdoor cooking. He's an actual Ranch Cookie. Life has become leisurely, and better. Hugs and kisses to you and your new wife. Cheers!

For the last 18 months, I've been cooking on a rocket mass heater and have learned to adapt many of my favorite recipes. The one thing I've been searching for is a better way to make biscuits than Bisquick and water. THANK YOU, JOSH! Can't wait to try the beautiful buns you cooked in this video. (And please don't read anything into that last statement: I'm old enough to be your mother 🤣🤣)

Bisquick is just flour, salt, baking powder and/or baking Soda. You can make your own and store it in a glass jar. There are tons of videos/recipes for camp biscuits. Buttermilk biscuits at the end of vacation (when the milk was no longer fresh) was always delicious. Or add some sugar and freshly picked berries, bake in a disc instead of making individual biscuits, for some delicious scones. We used to off grid camp all the time…before the term off grid was even a thing LOL

I'm glad you made this video reminding people to get creative and to use what you have on hand. I just got a mortar and pestle but in the past would use a bar muddler and liquid measuring cup as a substitute. Don't have a baking sheet for your bacon or frozen hash browns? Get some foil and pull a sheet long enough to fold then fold once then fold all sides at least once to lock in any juices/oil that may run. Boom you have a baking sheet and you touch it with your bare hands out of the office, the sides at least.

My mom hogs the kitchen all day. It’s a small kitchen and she always has something going on the stove. Which makes it hard for me or my cousins to cook something. So I busted out my camping supplies and set up a table outside. It works great when it’s not raining. When it rains I move it to the porch or to the dining room. Also my fiancée’s mom is renovating her kitchen so she’s moved everything outside and cooks on her gas grill. It can be done! Especially in Southern California!

I used to always hand mince pork for various dumplings since we didn’t own food processors when I was growing up. Personally I think the dumplings taste better that way. ❤

I think there's a good reason that the meatballs came out so well. One of the factors in tenderness for meatballs is myoglobin. Because it was chopped by hand, there was no heat, no overworking, and the meat was very course. That led to very little myoglobin production. If you had a been doing this in a kitchen, you might even use a cold sheet pan to further keep the meat cold and minimize the myoglobin even more.

I loved the concept of this video, because I do look at some and think well first I need this this and that 😂 then I also need to buy that, thennnn I can start the recipe 😂 and I see people do this all the time, some have channels just doing this and it’s boring, but I think I prefer the message you’re giving so I appreciate the content and hopefully we can get a couple more of these videos for us peasants to learn from 😂👏🏽 thank youuuu

Mmmm... bison... 😋 Cooking outdoors is de rigeur in the south in the summer. Heck, I do it in Montana in the summer! Taking the induction cooktop, the George Foreman, the instant pot oh, the airfryer... outside onto the porch or onto a picnic table. Gets the heat out of your kitchen, and everything tastes better when it's cooked Outdoors. Especially bison...

@@vaseklepic12 The only better equipment I can see him having than anyone here is the cordless burner. Everyone should have at least 1 knife, bowl, pan/pot, and cooking spoon (literally all my cooking items). I do have a burner WITH a cord but it's not too difficult to find outlets to be able to turn it on- maybe not in the forest exactly, but there are certain adapters you can get to make it work. I know all this because I've done it for nearly 8 years, having to adapt cooking styles and what I eat, being without a home.
