I'm 65 years old, live in Virginia, USA & had never heard of Nightwish until last December! I ran up on a reaction vid. of GLS at this same show you have here. I watched it & couldn't believe the way it works on a person's spiritual being. I've been hooked on Nightwish ever since. You're the only other person I've heard say that you feel like you're taken on a magnificent journey somewhere, which is EXACTLY how they make me feel!! I'm not sure how I got there, or where I was, but I cant wait go there again!!

Totally agree! It’s got Marco’s Vocals, a great harmony between him and Floor, it’s heavier than what you’ve heard so far, aaand it’s got a super long and groovy breakdown that they turn into a verse; because Nightwish, lol. It’s one of my favorite Nightwish songs, and that’s saying a lot ;) I’d also like to recommend Ghost River (from Wacken aswell) - I think you’d love that one aswell :D

The haunting melody together with the lyrics about piano black, just melt together and create something that touches the heart. Actually, I love every part of the piano metaphor that Tuomas uses throughout the song, for example; “rusty keys without a door” is truly a brilliant way of talking about piano keys, which in turn represent state of Tuomas’ creativity and heart

Loads of Nightwish material to see. Stay in chronological order for the best experience. This show Wacken 2013, Song of Myself, Romanticide, Ghost River etc. After you have done all Wacken move onto Tampere and Wembley.

Floor connects an energetic cord to her heart at 3:18 as if plugging herself into a celestial power source for this song. "My fall will be for you", despite the intended meaning, I believe this has a deeper meaning here which speaks to some people on a subconscious level.

OK. I KNOW this is over the top and just me having too many beers while posting but .. At the end where you are going Oh .. my .. God .." .. made me think of something. Two thousand years ago Boudica died fighting the Romans. I can imagine Floor .. probably not singing .. raising an army to come to her aid .. it is just the look on your face must have been what you would have been .. bearded and painted blue .. shouting and raising your sword as you joined her army. Floor .. seems to me to probably have that .. whatever it is .. that a young warrior queen would have had. Ok. I will be quiet now .. another beer.

I know how you feel. First time I heard them, I was blown away. I looked them up and was dumbfounded when I read they started in the 90's. After binge watching videos, I have total respect. The best composer / arranger add the tightest musicians and top it with the best singer ! Ta Da....Nightwish ! The final pieces are the Loyalest fans ( Army ) on the planet.. Every concert, every crowd shot...They are ALL singing along, 10...15 minute songs, every damn word. The Perfect Storm, glad you found it as I did. Iy don't get no better !

When they played at Wacken Open Air in 2013, Floor was still quite new to Nightwish fans, so GLS was her chance to show her versatility & stage presence as a vocalist, and she nailed it. Later that year the band also announced that they have two new official members, Floor Jansen (lead vocals) and the multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley. P.S. "Nightwish is part of my life now". Trust me, I was in that place and I definitely believe you. This Wacken concert in particular was life-changer for me. And even though this song and performance are amazing, there's much more in the show and much more in the band. Loved your 2 reactions and subscribed, looking forward to see more. BTW you asked about the composer, Tuomas (which is the leader and keyboardist of the band), as far as I know he doesn't have classical background but he used to play some instruments in the school band. He wasn't into metal until he was taken to a Metallica concert and years later founded Nightwish. He is very interested in movie scores though and you can hear the influence in almost all the music, but they have a lot of variety, no 2 songs are alike. Also for the Imaginaerum album (the one Storytime was from) they released an actual movie with a Score album as well, with orchestral music, composed by him, I think with the help of the orchestra they work with, so you were right there. He is really a modern genius. Well I hope I helped you with the info Cheers!

Great reaction! You would really enjoy "Ghost River" and "Romantacide" from the same Wakken concert, 2013. Marko, the bass player, does vocals as well as Floor on these 2 songs that will just blow you away!

Tuomas said in answer to a fan question, that he would love to compose music for a computer game like Skyriim (which he loves to play). His solo album "The Life and Times of Scrooge (McDuck)" is a masterpiece of a "score" to a graphic novel. And the 2nd CD on the latest album, "Human :||: Nature" is a nearly 32 minute symphonic epic of exquisite beauty.

It's true it's not like a normal concert music. It's like a movie music, it's immersive - really taken to some place. My favourite is still their cover of Walking in the Air. I like to watch it as as fan made video by Jankler TV, set in clips of the the Hobbit story. It has over 9m views. I really feel it takes me to fly. Their singer there is their first one, Tarja Turunen - she sings more operatic than this current singer, Floor Jansen, who uses more versatile set of styles. Maybe Floor will sing that song one day too, looking forward to it, albeit it's a cover. But at the moment if you want to go how most suggest, choose anything from this Wacken concert, and you can't miss :) Except miss to hear more

This is Symphonic Metal - and Tuomas are the real deal in composing. He is deeply into science and nature, and have this unique ability to transfer his thoughts into compositions - and the rest of Nightwish are just as remarkable in their parts - and also deeply into science and nature. Sleeping Sun, Tampere 2015 are a good example of telling the story of the solar eclipse in 1999 Just keep them coming 🤘 🤘

Nice reaction. I can tell you it keeps getting better,and the chills doesnt stop. Every song you will be hearing from this band will be of this level and some even higher. And from Floor....... i think you by now heard about 25% of what she can deliver. Her stage presence her acting her ability to get you to feel the emotions needed and she as a person.(if she did this in the middle ages......)AWESOME Keep around and you will find out:)

Great reaction! GLS is the most reacted to song, in the history of music video reactions. A bit ahead of Jinger Pisces. FYI:There were 82,000+ in the audience that night. It is the 13th of 15 songs that NW performed that night. I would recommend either 'Ever Dream' or 'Song of Myself'' from the same concert for your next Nightwish reaction. Floor is the 3rd and still current female lead singer of Nightwish (est. 1996) She had been with the band for little over 10 months at the time of this concert on 03 August 2013. She started performing in her first Metal Band, After-Forever at the age of 16. After that band disbanded, she started her own band called Revamp. Which was on hiatus, when she received a call from Nightwish to take over the female lead singing duties mid-tour. The rest is herstory.

I've seen dozens of reactions on GLS and yours is definitely one of the best! When ever you react to more NW I will be there. Seems to me you are hooked. I have many favorite NW songs outside Wacken 2013, but I recommend you stick to Wacken 2013. Each song is worthy of a reaction. Then you can move to Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015, Buenos Aires 2018. And then you could maybe discover NW with the previous female vocalist. Two of them before Floor. I saw many great suggestions in the comments for your next NW reaction. In most of those the bassist Marko is on vocals with Floor. You still haven't heard his vocals. I just love it when they sing together! And Tuomas' compositions are amazing indeed! Another great reaction. Imagine 82k+ fans going quiet during an interlude during a symphonic metal song!! She held them in her hands throughout the entire song. Love your recognition of the genius of Tuomas composition. He write music and lyrics for most of their songs. By the way I believe this was the 13th song is a 90+ minute concert.

You got it, Floor (Jahn-sen). Tuomas the keyboardist and main composer loves movie scores and would like to someday do one. He collaborates with Pip Williams to do the orchestrated arrangements. The entire B side of their new album is instrumental. The whole album is worth a listen (or 800).. The entire Wacken 2013 concert is next level. But so is Wembley and Tampere. Have fun :)
