They are a bit like marmite, some people love them and some people hate them, I put one it at my dads house in 2008, it's only had a set of electrodes and a bearing plate in all them years, to be honest its more to do with water quality sometimes than the actual boiler itself, thanks for watching as always

A. It's 15mm fitting on 16mm pipe! B. That speed fit isolation valve was only designed for NON heating applications.

I'm impressed they got that fitting on there in the first place! Uponor is good stuff my whole house is plumbed with it. I've used the compression fittings before to bring some stabs out good quality kit. Funny story my first ever mistake plumbing before I even started college was in my own house didn't even know mlcp existed chopped into the main cold feed on a Saturday afternoon thinking it was speedfit and came a cropper.😬 Managed to get a couple delivered Sunday lunchtime from Amazon thankfully and got the water back on. Learned a lot that day. 😂

It can catch you out, to be honest it can be hard to tell and does look like speed fit pipe when installed, uponor is the proper stuff, I think this was a cheaper product but it is all the same size, thanks for watching as always mate

How did they get that valve on 😂😂 . Them push fit valves are garbage on hot and cold never mind central heating. Nice find by the guys tracking the leak 😉
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Жыл бұрын
I think they must have shaved the pipe down to get it on, I tried myself just out of interest and there's no way a speedfit fitting comes close to fitting, it was a good find to be fair, I have used them a few times when leaks aren't obvious, it saves me time and they guarantee to find it, thanks for watching as always mate

Tom great video learning loads thanks. Quick question what make/model is the transfer pump? Is it specific to water?
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching mate, the pump I use is a machine mart Clarke spe1200, this pump will only pump clean water, I have a different one that I use for dirty water and oil. To be honest it's a great bit of kit for the price, I am considering adapting something to make it in to a power flush machine, the pump itself is way more powerful than the one that's inside my very expensive flushing machine and this could easily be adapted to make a perfect flushing machine for a really low cost, thanks for watching as always
