Love the content. I upgraded a couple of weeks back and it is so forgiving on low toe strikes. You fitted me and clearly learnt the low toe strike from my technique! 🤣 Really enjoyed the fitting by the way and will definitely be dropping by when I change up my bag.

I had both at the same time. On a trip t Portugal the standard won out. Tried with standard shaft and a Riptide CB. Sold the 10k, now happy with the G430 max.

I went for a driver fitting recently and was wanting the Ping 10k but was recommended to get the Ping sft with a 45 gram shaft.

Great review, I wonder how the Max (or the Lst (my gamer) would perform with the 28gram weight from the 10k used? Probably increase SW to a D6 but may be an interesting experiment.

Awesome vid. It almost looks like slo motion when you swing at 90mph, lol. Swung both recently...10k is so big. Did prefer sound. And draw bias of 10k. Certainly both had more pop than my 410 lol.

The head weight in my standard Max is 25 g albeit I play mine with 9 g But you said that one was 22 g have they changed them to make the difference bigger?

Couple questions. You mentioned early in the video that if you gamed one of these that you’d use the 10.5 head, why would you go 10.5 instead of 9 with your speed and positive attack angle? Last question, I can purchase a 9° max or a 10.5° 10k, swing speed around 100/105 with a pretty neutral angle of attack…what do you recommend and what difference do you think I’d notice between the two? My only small gripe with the 10k is that the head weight was huge on mine, 204g. Need to use a counter bal shaft for sure and can't go over 45". I wonder if I'll lose forgiveness if I reduce weight down to the typical 198g that I'm used to.

I’ve just changed my Titliest TSR3 for the ping 10k.. Ping has standard shaft and is definitely more forgiving

Good interesting review, just goes to show that it is not necessary to keep upgrading to the latest versions. I still use an old titleist ts driver which is still performing well.

I was pissed off to buy a new G430 max the week before the 10k was announced. The golf shop said they had no idea it was coming. I won’t be upgrading for quite a while.

Given the weight, I assume it would be easier to get close to D3-D4 (my preferred weight) @ 44.5” or 44.75”? I like to play a shorter driver

I upgraded from max to 10k, am now playing it at 44 inches seeing a lot more centre strikes and no loss of distance but have had to change the head weight to 34g and add 1 x 4g lead tape strip to get the swing weight back to D4ish. Do you think I am weighting the head up too much, I am getting myself a bit lost but don’t want to go back to standard length shaft as I struggled centre striking and and had I high right miss which I assumed was club face and my face control seems easier with the shorter shaft. Maybe time to seek professional help over my self diagnosis and fitting

Great review with a compellingly proper methodology. I’ve gamed PING drivers for the last 7 years and added the 430 Max to the bag last year (upgrade from 410). I’m a 9.2 HCP, my driver swing speed is 97 MPH, and I use a Swing Caddie SC4 to monitor launch conditions. For my swing speed and 10.5 degree head, 13-14 degrees launch angle with ~2,300 - 2,400 spin provides optimal carry of 240Y. I purchased the 430 Max 10K and compared it to my plain vanilla 430 Max over 3 weeks of range + 8 rounds of golf. Conclusion: much greater dispersion with 10K, 3 yard distance gain @ ~ 2,200 spin. Swing speed same, launch angle same, so I’m not switching. 10K head is now for sale on EBay. Subjectively, much prefer the regular 430 Max impact sound. Individual mileage will vary, and strongly suggest that all compare before switching, and of course test with the same shaft.

Really wanted to love either of these drivers but they felt like a ton weight when swibging them, as someone who is over the top and down on it what driver should suit me? Also always feared more loft due to excess spin but what would you look at for me ?

Max feels more solid than earlier pings, akin to the Titleist drivers. Sound is better also.

Had a 430 for a month, span like a top, sold it for more than i paid. I tried the 10k version, still span it at 4300. Now play AiSmoke 9 turned down to 8 degree with stiff shaft, 2100 spin and 35 yards longer, great dispersion as its not left biased. Ping has the reputation of being forgiving, but i find the game cost is too much

So... you just get what you pay for, and it really only comes down to which ones you like the look of.
