Some of the engines are missing the glow plugs. If the crashed engine has been sitting a while it is probably just gummed up cleaning should fix it. I would be interested in what you want to sell

I looove the older men who school us on tools. Reminds me of my dad gone too soon in 1976 at age 49. I was just 18 With no interest in tools whatsoever but man he loved his makeshift workshop in the “cellar” as it was called then. He was organized as all get out. Took such good care of it all. It hurts to know all those things are gone. So enjoy your channel. ❤

Model RC airplanes were a huge hobby of mine 20 years ago. The engines are pretty decent. The O.S engines had several models, some with bushings and some with bearings. Let them soak with good through the glow plug hole ("spark plug" ) and the carb hole with liquid wrench, let them set for a day or so, then do tiny movements until they free up. Cool find. I still have all that stuff you picked up, the Monocoat Iron is certainly a good find, they don't cost alot but hey $ is a $

I use the hat washing thingies, all the time! If there’s a chance that the colors will bleed, I use it in a front loading washing machine, on gentle cycle, so I have access to cold water. Just has to be a front loading washing machine. If I use the washing machine, I can also use a detergent that has no fragrance, because I’ve had a return once, due to fragrance from the detergent.

DON’T put gas in those two stroke R/C engines. You’ll also need a glow plug heater (battery). I hope there is a battery powered cone starter in the box of parts. Getting an untuned or, worse, an engine that was put away “wet” as the fuel will turn to shellac and will need some TLC. It used to be a major hobby of mine. I still have three planes on the wall in the garage just because they remind me how much fun they were to build, crash and build again.
@songbird83

Hey RC pilot here. To be able to test those engines you will need a glow plug, glow ignitor, and a chicken stick at minimum. You will have to also mount them to a board to be sure not to injure yourself when testing them. If you have any questions I'd be happy to help! Love your channel!🙂

Clean the filter in your washer first. Food can transfer, but you can put that in the laundry washer too, in theory at least. Love the snowmen. I hate turning down the lemonade, but I don't like lemons lol. Yep, a pretty good "find" overall. Yes, back in the day OS-Max were some of the best mid-priced Remote Control (R/C) engines Fox was another brand. Enya was another brand that were a little up the food chain. Cox engines were like the Kodak of engines. I would suggest finding yourself a GOOD Hobby Shop that sells planes and kits. The pointed iron was used to heat activate wing covering. At the Hobby Shop, you may actually find somebody that would help you repair/remanufacture the engines you "acquired". Oh yeah, the "Thumb-Tach" was a Heathkit product, and it is a tachometer used by model airplane people to see how fast the propeller is spinning. Have not seen one of those is quite a while. These ARE NOT GASOLINE engines. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE GASOLINE !! They use a methanol blend (alcohol) along with castor oil/ synthetic. These are two cycle engines. GO TO THE HOBBY SHOP !!!! Rip P.S. -- We will be in Myrtle Beach next week !!

Don’t wash your hats in the dishwasher or washing machine or use the dryer!! I just cleaned a bunch of my old hats, and some were very dirty from wearing at work, playing softball and working on a stock car! I filled a tote with water and dawn dish soap, sprayed the hats with either shout or other spray with oxy clean and let them soak overnight. You can use a soft brush, I used a soft toothbrush, to get some spots out. If real dirty you may have to do again. I can’t believe how clean they came out with how dirty they were. Put them in the sun to dry!! They won’t get fuzzy this way. Dishwasher will make them fuzzy looking from the pressure. Just saying if you want to keep your hats nice and resellable! Lol
